Title: california love
Post by: Tanjential on January 28, 2007, 07:20:06 PM
what is the differemce between the remix and the OG? beats the same no? one's just extended as fuck?

also, roger was actually involved in the creation of the song(s)? not just sampled?

never understood this even when I was originally into rap late 90's/early 00's

i think the original has the piano keys and all that shit, more like Dre's modern sound.  The remix was more "g-funk" influenced.

But that's jus me.

OG beat samples Joe Cocker's "Woman to Woman"
The remix is a G-Funk Beat

Both OG and Remix have extended versions that are 6-7 mins long.  On the OG Pac and Dre shout out different cities (i.e. "Inglewood, Inglewood always up to no good", etc.).  On the remix Roger ad-libs at the end of the song.

The remix sample Kleer "intimate connection" (dope 80's funky track) whereas the OG version sample Joe Cocker "woman to woman".
For me the remix version is way better. Both versions has classics videos.

yeah, I have a decent amount of albums but I never got all eyez cause double disc rap is expensive as shit.

and as far as the Dre shit I'm requesting, I'm just collecting shit from albums that are not completely produced by Dre (for example, why buy encore or kingdom come when all I want is the 4 dre tracks on each, feel?)

What's the difference between singledisc cds and double album? surely can't be that much.
And AEOM has been out over a decade. You've had nearly eleven years to save up some cash for it. lol

yeah but there's always single disc albums to get when I cop shit. plus I've heard so much of that album so much, I'd rather buy a disc of new shit that's dope for half the price.

and all eyez is typically like 26.99+ where I see it, you not in the states?

Nah, I'm in Norway. Albums here, whether is double or single disc, prices are the same (except if the album is special imported or some shit).

oh what? that's dope. well to give you an idea, these days I can get most single disc cds for just over 10 bucks, so 26.99 comes out to like 32 bucks with tax and that's almost the price of like 3 regular cds these days.

and also, I don't see how the discogs.com site or whatever would have helped me with this. no matter how many times i'd rad the words "og" and 'remix' wouldn't change that I hadn't heard the remix till linked to the video. never saw the remix video either.

it is when there is a ridiculous amount of albums. I mean, why get an album with 3 dope songs when you can get a record with 13 dope songs?

but i feel you, when dre produces a rapper I am a fan of for 5 tracks or more, I buy it.

all eyez-should own, mad expensive
ca love remix-don't know where I would have had easy access to this till recently
Kuruption-used to own, very spotty album. traded it for beatles records in 2002. am currently compiling the better songs on a best of kurupt compilation.
it was written-used to own, traded for beatles in 2002. gonna put nas is coming in same context as ask yaself w/kurupt on a dre compilation.
poetic justice-have never been satisfied with a soundtrack-so inconsistent..how much does dre produce on that shit? I remember looking into it to the answer being less than 5.
eminem-encore is garbage, even the dre tracks are suspect at times.
King T-thy kingdom come-never seen this physically in front of me and didn't know dre produced a substantial amount of it...I thought the dre produced king t album got shelved.

why don't u just download the shit and burn it?

I mean I actually own the essential records, but if I didn't I would just download it.  No excuse for not having an copy of all eyez on me.

I've owned kuruption since the day it dropped.  Its not very good.  but u seem like a big dpg fan, why don't u just d/l it?

i did, which is how i " am currently compiling the better songs on a best of kurupt compilation."-My last post

I don't like to just make copies of whole albums, to me if you're gonna burn it make a mix of consistently dope shit cause an album is a statement. -T
