He has too, right?  Cos I remember Daz said that he would buy a couple of copies of 2002 cos he gets paid and Im sure Snoop has the same deal.

He did get money from the dead man walking cd. He sure gets money as the writer of the songs. Because this is under priority and their contract with him, it depends on that contract what he gets. Deathrow and doggystyle have little to do with it. Death row delivered these songs in 2000 before it was supposed to drop the first time.

yea, he gets paid from the album.  check the booklet, and you'll see his publishing in the credits.  However, his publishing does NOT appear in DMW, but I guess he was paid some money up front for that album.

It's So complicated, There's Noway To Tell.

Basically,
There's 2 Types Of "Getting Paid" For A CD.

There's Publishing Rights, Which The Songwriter Gets Paid. (I.E., R.Kelly Gets Paid For Michael Jackson's Song "Cry" Because He Wrote It.)

Then There's Performance Royalties.  M.J. Performed The Song, So He Gets Paid Those Royalties For It.

Like The Last Beatles CD, #1.  Paul MCCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, And The Estate Of John Lennon (Yoko Ono) Split The PERFORMANCE Royalties 4 Ways.

Michael Jackson Owns The Publishing Rights, So He Got Those Royalties.  (He Sold Half Of Each Song To Sony, So Sony Gets Half Of The Publishing Royalties Of The Beatles Songs).

If Paul McCartney Performs "Let It Be" In Concert, He Has To Pay Mike, Since He Owns The Publishing Rights To The Song, Even Though Paul Wrote It (He Sold It In 1970).

If Mike PLAYS A Copy Of The Beatles "Let It Be", He Has To Pay Paul The Performance Royalties For The Song.  If Mike Performs The Song, He Doesn't Have To Pay Paul, Because He Owns The Publishing Rights.  Get it?

Like Alien Ant Farm Doing "Smooth Criminal".. They Have To Pay Mike Songwriting Credits Since He Wrote It.  If They Sampled His Voice In It, They'd Have To Pay Him Songwriting Credits, AND Performance Credits.  That's Why Nobody Samples Him, They Just Do Cover Songs, It's Too Expensive.

On The Other Hand, Like "Human Nature" Which Was Sampled By Deathrow, And By SWV Can Be Done, Because Mike Didn't Write It, So It's Cheaper.

I'm Not Sure Which Royalties Dre/Snoop/Daz Get, But I Think All 3 Get A Portion Of Their Royalties Off The Row.  But Pleezbalieve The Row Ain't Sellin Much, So No Matter What Percent They Get, It Aint' Much.  Plus, Who Knows If The Row Pays Up? I Know The Row Got Sued A Few Months Ago By George Clinton, Because They Sampled All His Sh*t, And Didn't Ever Pay Him For It, but a BUNCH Of Record Companies Got Sued For The Same Thing.

Overseer went nuts when i suggested this in a chat .. but the fact that the album has the logo of dogghouse on it makes me think even more that the dh/dr beefs a publicity stunt ...

Suge 'n snoop probably do hate each others guts .. but they know a  lil beef will get them both on mtv etc ....

Funny how the dh/dr beef just started when the started or started to rebuild record co's ...

u all probabaly think i'm nuts but theres a few clues that its is ... infact theres a lot including this album ...

Apparently, 2002 went Gold, and that's some nice cash in hand when you're shopping with your kiddies.  ;D

Lee, I Think You Might Be Right, I've Thought The Same Thing.  Plus, If You'll Remember, The Same Songs Are On DMW, And Also For Sale On Snoop's Radio Site.  I Think They Still Got Business Dealings, Because I Keep Getting Emails From Snoop's Peeps Reppin' The Greatest Hits Album.  I Think He's Gettin Paid.

But A Funny Thing, I Saw A Commercial for It Last Night, And They Showed Snoop Wearing His "Doggfather" Getup Almost The Whole Time, Playing Off That It Looked Like He Does In "Bones", LOL.  That's Smart.

If 2002 went gold then the Eastsidaz went platinum cos those came out relatively the same time and Eastsidaz spent over twice as much time on the boards...and debuted at 4 when 2002 came in in the 20's.

i was kinda thinking it was a publicity stunt b4 but this is the icing on the cake (greatest hits album) lol ....

I'm not saying i'm 100% sure that it is ... but i'm about 75% sure .. we won't know 4 sure for about a another year ....

lee.. i didnt go ballistic @ u saying snoop was getting paid.

its obvious he still has to deal with death row in some capacity.

but snoop isn't best of buddies with suge.
he's not in a conspiracy with him.

death row are trying to milk snoop for every penny can.

Actually I Almost 100% Sure That The Only Reason Snoop Is Going Along With This Great Hits Album Is Beacuse He's Trying To Finish His Contract Obligations With Deathrow/Priority Who Basicly Get A Major Cut Of Each Snoop Dogg Record Untill His Contract Is Up Between Deathrow/Priority.. I Heard It Was A 8 Album Deal, I'm Trying To Confirm With Priority If That Is True.. One Side Note Snoops Next Album Comes Out On Dogghouse/MCA.. Hmmmmm

i don't think their "buddies" excatly .... but they COULD be in conspirasy ... put it this way they could be in conspriasy but still hate each other .. but be that DESPARATE for sucess with the record companys that they'd do almost anything ... to bring attention on themselves ...

Another clue that this "beef" is bullshit .. is that nobody from dr or dh has been injured or anything ...Would'nt u think they would be if they were all such gangsters ?

I mean its not like Snoop would have to get shot dead for Suge to get at him ... they could just scare people from dogghouse ...

Also i heard Kokane is on new dr stuff ... Isn't that a bit odd ?

Come on u all , don't be in denial b-coz u wanna belive some beef coz it makes the music seem more exciting ..

I used to belive it but now i almost sure its a publicity .. a desparate publicity stunt at that.
