Title: I hate to love it...
Post by: Siberian_Wolf on October 23, 2001, 08:04:33 AM
Yo, that Diddy thread reminded me of one thing. There are some songs that you HATE to love. You're ashamed of liking them but you STILL love the beat or the rhymes or else.

For example, I absolutely love the beat to Puffy's song Do You Know? from NO WAY OUT album. Maybe it's the sample, but I love it tho I'm ashamed of it.

What songs of that sort can YOU name?

                      Bourbans n Lacs
Lil Bow WOw- That's My Name (Bow Wow)
Nelly- RIde With Me, E.I.
Jay Z- IZZo, i love that shit

By the way, i love a lot of Puffy shit actually, and i don't even hate to love it....but ya, it can be embarassing ha ha ha

In fact, i love a lot of commercial, cheezy shit to tell the truth, and i am damn proud of it!

I love loads of "wack" stuff-I'm like the only one to stick for Nelly! Ride Wit Me is HOT, like the man said, no doubt...

I also like a lot of Vanilla Ice, he can be aright. You know you bounced to his shit!

AND WILL SMITH-FUCK ALL Y'ALL THAT HATE...The Fresh Prince is doooope...Y'all know you chilled to Summertime, laughed when you was listening to him mess around on Nightmare On Elm Street, and nodded your head in agreement to Girls Ain't Nuttin But Trouble...And Miami, MIB and Wild Wild West ain't so bad.

I"m a sucka for Love Songs.  I Like A Lot Of Commercial Stuff, As Long As It Shows Talent.

I Like Christina Aguilera's "Come On Over" And "What A Girl Wants" LOL

I Can't Say I'm Down With Britney, Though.

I Like A Lot Of Old Stuff, Rolling Stones, Etc.

I Like Some Folkie Stuff Like Van morrison

And I Even Like Country.   Country Has A Lot Of Good Musicians, Actually.  It's Just An Outcasted Genre, Like Hiphop.  Only fits A Certain Niche.  Garth Brooks Etc. Are Actually Pretty Good.  Nobody Else on Here's Gonna Admit That, Though, LOL.

I Like Elvis, He Had Good Stuff.  Prob. The Best voice Ever.

I Like SOME Of That Cheesy 80's Stuff, Like "Puttin' On The Ritz" Etc.

Oooh, forgot to say...I like a lot of poppy shit. Britney, etc...Also, add the fact they often have GREAT bodies(the girls, that is), and...AAAAH...

Trauma, don't be so cynical. I'm aright with country, but I LOVE jazz...Nawlins jazz just beats em all...Anyways, remember, when I'm fully relaxed, my speech has been compared to Forrest Gump's, so don't even think I'm not country enough not to like country...:)

Ooh, Trauma, you're a southern boy...Gonna check my Dirty South board? http://216.205.150.34/users/DirtySouthAffiliates/index.cgi

Mediocre track at best IMO, but to each his own.  I think Mariah has fallen off, Ja blows, and Nate just sounds like Nate-nothing earth-shattering.

britney spears-sometimes(beautiful song tight mellow beat)

Dam this topic...I think the only hot Neptunes beat I've heard is the one for that Britney "Slave" song.  C'mon, who thinks that is a pretty nice beat?
Title: Re: I hate to love it...
Post by: teecee on October 23, 2001, 04:20:11 PM
I really think that is a terrible Neptunes beat to tell you the truth......maybe just because i have heard like 50 variations of  it from them previously.  I used to actaully not mind the Neptunes, but damn they are getting worse all the time.  I still think they have talent though.....
And yo, the only thing i like about that Britney song is the video that goes with it, straight up!

Man, That Britney Song Sucks, Beat, Lyrics, Everything.  And That Britney "Sometimes" Song I Can't Stand.

Hey, I Agree About That Backstreet Fag Song "I Want It That Way" Though, That Song Is Good. I'ma Learn To Play It On My Acoustic Guitar, And Use It Go Get Laid.

I think that song sucks and is bad even for a britney/neptune collabo.  Damn--this topic is just leading to people letting out embarassing secrets.

i am shamed to admit but i like neptunes beats more than dres...... (i guess that's cause they are more electronic, and i am not into just rap)

Oh My, I've Heard Everything Now.  The Neptunes Over Dre... I Dunno if I Can Respect That Or Not. LOL...

Hey, I Like Willie Nelson, Too.  LOL...

"Blueee Skieeesss, Smilin' At Me... Nothin' But Blue Skieeesss, Do I See... Never Saw The Sun, Shinin' So Bright, Neva Saw Things, Goin' So Right... Never Seen The Days, Goin' So Right, When You're In Love, My How They Fly By" - Willie Nelson "Blue Skies"

i don't think you got it

Dr Dre beats are much superior for Rap of course

but i like neptunes beats cause they got different flavor, can be used for different type of music
(example britney spears slave, yes bad example hehe)

Yah-You're not helping your cause.  Dre has worked with Toni Braxton, Mary J. Blige, and No Doubt (Gwen Stefani..mmm) while the first non rap that Neptunes have worked with (that im aware of) is Britney.

Toni Braxton, Jary J.Blige, are all rap/rnb/hip hop, gwen stefani was the song with EVE which was (rap/hiphop),

i dont think you got it though, i meant that i like neptunes/timabland beats cause they are much different from dr dre's beats while i still love dr beats, sometimes i want to hear someone else but dre style beats

shit it's kind of hard to explain, but whatever

MJ=Dope

Brit_Dogg=Crack junkie...LoL Just playin' on that one...But no doubt, MJ's dope as fuuuuck...

And WORD to logic. I actually like a lot of J-Lo stuff, and the videos(particularly Love Don't Cost A Thing unedited)rock...I think the "sorry, i'm just ramming myself" scene in Play is just fuuunny...

And Izzo is such a STYLE-BITIN song...I'ma just quote E.D.I. here..."Style bitin thug lyin niggaz...Give it up...We hit em up!"

Ech, it's an aright song, I mean, Snoop is getting worse all the time, but it's okay, I guess...Oh, Jay-Z did it? I'm relieved, I thought for a minute there Snoopy was humiliating himself.
