Here's something I've been thinkin of; in your opinion, which album (wc), has the most classic songs? Not songs you personally like, but songs you think most peeps would consider classic.
Here are the songs I think are classics on Chronic 2...
"Dr. Dre 2001" -
"Still D-R-E": Dre changed the landscape of hip-hop with this song. An Incredible, unique beat. Snoop & Dre return. Dre handle's his rhymes well, and Snoop's kills it with that hook.
"Xxplosive": Great song to chill to with this dope ass beat. Nates serves up a classic performance...str8 heat. Kurupt almost fucks it up for good though.
"Forgot About Dre": Maybe the illest beat my ears have ever heard. I remember crying when I heard those first few second's of Dre violin chords play. He also combines some bouncy Southern flavored drums along with this hard rock guitar rift. Not to mention prolly the best hook I've heard in my lifetime. Eminem hook's up Dre with some great lyrics, and Dre delivers them perfect.
"The Next Episode": MAN, very, very sick beat. This song almost has that '92-'96 feel to it. Dre's drums are dope aswell as Snoop's hook, "Gata, gata, gata, it's the mutherfuckin D-O DOuble G!" Love that, Snoop is at the top of his game wit that verse too. Nate once again comes top notch..."Smoke weed everyday." Classic wc party anthem.
"Straight Outta Compton" has a lot too -
"Straight Outta Compton"
"Gangsta, Gangsta"
"Fuck Tha Police"
"Dopeman"
"Express Yourself"
The original Chronic is full of them -
"Dre Day"
"Let Me Ride"
"Nuthin But A G Thang"
"Lil Ghetto Boy"
If an album has just ONE classic song it's a dam good album y'all...
Can you guys name some?
-
Westside Connection-Bow Down
all tha songs on tha cd

Westside Connection-Bow Down
all tha songs on tha cd
Okay, that's exactly what I said not to do. Atleast list them and give reasons.
-
Murder was the case soundtrack had a lot of them
1. Murder was the Case- Tha beat an snoop at his best
2. Natural Born Killaz- First Dre an Cube track since tha NWA days, need I say more
3. What Would You Do- Daz's best beat, his first song he produced that was a big hit. Song is classic
4. U bette Recognize- Introduced sam to rap, great beat an great rhymes
5. Dollars an Sense- One of tha best diss songs ever made
Arguments could also be made for 21st street an One more day
-
Word to "Murder Was The Case" Tom...
I don't know about, "U Better Recognize" though.
You could make a good argument for "21 Jump Street." I say it's a classic.
Don't forget "Doggystyle" guys, I think it has more classic tracks than, "The Chronic."
"Gin & Juice"
"Tha Shiznit"
"Who Am I"
"Ain't No Fun"
"Doggy Dogg World"
-
I would say doggystyle is all classic tracks except Serial Killa, cuz i don't feel DOC on the chorus. No other album ever has that many dope songs. WOW.
-
what?? thats DOC on the chorus? i thought that was RBX, i always saw DOC listed as part of the song but i never heard him on the song

-
MWTC, Doggystyle, and AEOM were some of them I would have chosen. Also, I would have to add DJ Quik "Safe + Sound". That whole fuckin cd is classic, I don't have to worry about moving my hand towards the skip button.
-
Well, Westcoast I'd Say The Greatest With The Most Classic Songs Is "Doggystyle", Like Mentioned Above. It's Got Like 10 Or So Classic Songs.
"Murder Was The Case",
"The Shiznit",
"G Funk Intro",
What's My Name",
"Doggy Dogg World",
"Lodi Dodi",
"Pump Pump",
The List Goes On And On. Serial Killa Is Dope Too, I Dunno Why Yall'z Trippin.
I'll Second "Thriller" (It's Westcoast, Right? ), But I Say "Dangerous" Had More.
"Black Or White"
"Remember The Time"
"Heal The World" 10.5/10 (lol)
"Will You Be There"
"Jam"
"In The Closet"
"Who Is It"
"Dangerous"
Really It Can't Be Faded.
Then There's Billy Joel's "An Innocent Man", Which Is One Of The Best WRITTEN Albums Ever. Excellent, Excellent Music.
"Uptown Girl" 9/10
"For The Longest Time" 10/10
"Tell Her About It" 10/10
"This Night" (Interpolates BEETHOVEN! Long Before Rap Ever Sampled Anything) 10/10
"An Innocent Man" 10/10
"Careless Talk" 9/10
"Leave A Tender Moment Alone" 10/10
Unbelievable Album. I Remember My Dad Bought This When It Came Out, In 1983! I Loved It Then, And It Might Be My Favorite Album Of All Time.
I Gotta Shout Out Old School Too, The Beatles "Help!" Album Was Unbelievable.
"Help!"
"Ticket To Ride"
"Yesterday"
"You've Got To Hide Your Love Away"
"It's Only Love"
"I've Just Seen A Face"
Or Their Album "Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band", Had
"Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band" 9/10
"Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" 10/10
"With A Little Help From My Friends" 10/10
"A Day In The Life" 10/10
"When I'm 64" 9.5/10
"She's Leaving Home" 9.5/10
"Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite" 9/10
"Lovely Rita" 9.5/10
"Good Morning" 9/10
"It's Getting Better" 9.5/10
"Fixing A Hole" 9.5/10
That Only Leaves 1 Song On The Album That People Don't Really Consider Classic, "Within You, Without You" Because It's Indian Music. Really An Incredible Album, And Considered By Most Polls Held On Music To be The Greatest Album Ever Released. If You Ask MUSICIANS, They'll Either Say Sgt. Peppers, Or The Beach Boys' "Pet Sounds", These 2 Albums Paved The Way For Musical Experimentation, And Without These, I Don't Think Funk Or Hiphop Ever Would Have Existed. Sgt. Peppers, The Chronic, Doggystyle, Dangerous, And Innocent Man Are My Favorite 5 Albums Of All Time.

Outkast-Aquemini
AT LEAST:
Art Of Storytelling, Pt 2
Aquemini
Rosa Parks
Return Of The G
etc...
Catatonia(Welsh rock band)-Equally Blessed And Cursed
At first I hated on this, was like "shit, this stuff's too soft"...but now i got major love for it, it's less poppy than International Velvet, and more powerful than Way Beyond Blue and the EPs:
Dead From The Waist Down
Londinium
She's A Millionaire
Storm The Palace
Karaoke Queen
Bulimic Beats
Valerian
Shoot The Messenger
Dazed, Beautiful And Bruised
That's all but *2* tracks, and they're dope too.
Ice-T:O.G.
This shit's sick...
The House
Bitches 2(even Pac quotes this one!)
Escape From The Killing Fields
The Tower
Ziplock
Home Of The Bodybag(okay, no rapping it, but bah)
Body Count
Canibus:Can-I-Bus
Rip Rock
Patriots
I Honor U
Get Retarded
Channel Zero
Buckingham Palace
Fredro Starr:Firestarr
This is possibly the best album, musically, I have ever heard apart from Doggystyle. There is not a truly weak beat here, barring that wack-ass Dyin 4 Rap Rmx, though not all are classics. And Starr is one of the best MCs out there today...
Comin At The Game
Dyin 4 Rap
What If(just beautiful)
Thug Warz
Perfect Bitch
Big Shits
One Night
Dat Be Dem
I Don't Wanna...
America's Most
Shining Thru Remix
And more...I just thought I'd put some up the rest of y'all wouldn't name.
