Hopefully a few of you remember this joint, but either way I think you'll like it. I believe it came out in like 02 (maybe late 01). Anyway the song is "They Say Vision" by Res. It's difficult to try and pigeonhole the song into a genre, but it's def R&B, Rock, Hip Hop. But don't get me twisted as they describe lots of songs like that, this one is all of those without trying to be.
She has a beautiful voice, very deep and thought provoking lyrics, and is fine as hell. The perfect package right here.
I love every element of this song - the message, the slide guitar, the hook, the piano loop, the driving drums. I just fucking love this song and I heard it today for the first time in literally years. I had it burned on a cd that was long lost / stolen. I've read lots of good things about this album "How I Do", and I'll probably buy it when I get around to it. Fucking shame that she didn't blow up.
Anyways, crank this one, it's really dope. Peace (and leave some comments!)

I wanna have sexual relations with Res. I even went out with a girl that looked like her, but it wasn't the same :'(
That song is hot too BTW.
OH, and what happened to her. I know she did a couple guest appearances with Talib Kweli and then disappeared off the face of the earf'. Last time I heard her was on that track on The Beautiful Struggle.

Oh shit, son, I actually got this album and I forgot all about it. Gimmie a couple momentos and you'll know where it'll be at.
I owe you for putting me up on some dope ass songs in some of your threads anyways.

My Nigga! Greatly appreciated man.
As far as what happened to her, I believe this is her only official album. She went to another label after this, but was shelved indefinitely. I think she's currently opening for Gnarls Barkley right now. Hopefully she drops some more music because she's way too talented to be slept on.

I thought this song was so-so back when it dropped, but I'll like it much more after hearing some years later. Great drop as usual.
