If you would introduce someone to the West, what song would you use? if you could only pick one song.
There are so many to choose but I would pick Mc Eiht - Straight Up Menace. This song just sums up the West Coast vibe for me.
A classic Westcoast beat, with Eiht rappin about the pain of growing up in the hood.
-
I can't think of one particular song but I would not pick a gangsta rap artist. I would start with with like Sly Boogy or SAS or someone mad lyrical. Most people are going to expect gangsta rap so I personally would throw something completely different first then bring in the rest after they hooked.

dude, thats so fucken difficult. older west coast or the new shit, you want more flows or lyrics?
but anyways,
older west coast:
Snoop Dogg - Gin and Juice
new shit:
Ya Boy - 100 bars of crack.
flow:
Brotha Lynch - Return of da baby killa (may be too explicit for them too handle though) :puke:
lyrics:
gave em something with the old Kurupt.

It's funny you said that because my homeboy is from Brooklyn and when he first came out here I did that with him. I think Dogg Food worked the best with him. Also songs that were collabos with east coast rappers to show that the west could compete.

Oh and I put them up on Ras Kass's Soul On Ice and the Van Goh bootleg and they was wanting more of him, Kurupt, X and all of them, ya know and they loved Mithy Slick!

I got a friend who don't really like Hip Hop a whole lot. I've been playing alot of Mac Dre/Thizz Nation shit, and he's been eating that stuff up!
-
Yesterday my homie came in while I was listening some DJ Quik. He was so impressed that he asked me for a copy, although he doesn't like Hip-Hop at all (except for Jay-Z and some other shit)
But I would say that depends on the music he usually listens to.
Maybe you should find out what kind of track he wants to hear?
