yo,eazy head over to www.houstonsoreal.blogspot.com and download the last radio show that Matt Sonzala has uploadet. A loooong ass Bun B interview. They play a bunch of new UGK tracks.
Props man, I will
-
why is it pushed back like this?
-
I have a feeling this will keep getting pushed back. I just hope they don't fuck with the tracklist, keep it 2 CDs long, and release it ASAP. Damn I was so hyped for this shit back in December.

its defintly gonna stay 2 cds..its getting pushed back..because they just got the video filmed about 3 weeks ago..and final editing was just done a couple of days ago..They gotta get this one the radio and on TV before they can drop it..
-
tight video
-
You'll never see this video in its entirety on TV, they never play the whole thing and this one's a bit long
-
Dope track, koo video.
-
The album is being pushed back because the a/r arent' confident in it's success. They are hoping that the hip hop drop in sales would get better.
they pushed it back from december because they thought bow wow, jay-z and other artists would take from it's sales... but who knows.. now that lil flip, chamillionaire, tip and other artists coming out soon, they might push it back later..
-
didn't the Bun B solo do numbers? it might not matter when they drop it because it might sell anyway
-
bun b went gold in 2005/2006.. with 700k sold.
but if you relased that album in 2006/2007 with the hip hop drop, it probably would of done only 200k
-
Does Ugk is still on virgin records? They should sign on rap a lot

Yeah, it went Gold. "Draped Up" was a fucking anthem here in the South when it came out.
Given that UGK albums usually don't cost much to produce/promote given the success (since they're self-produced and most of their guest appearances or outside production is usually returned favors), I don't see why it WOULDN'T get dropped. Even if hip-hop hasn't been selling well lately, the market for UGK has to be fairly obvious at this point. You market them to the South the way Def Jam does with Jeezy and let word-of-mouth follow.

Virgin? Nah, they're on Jive, same as always. They're both signed to Rap-A-Lot as solo artists, but I guess their contract doesn't allow them to release material as UGK outside of Jive and the deal ain't done yet. Otherwise, I imagine this album would have come out on Rap-A-Lot/Asylum MUCH sooner.
-
^^This is the last album on their contract at Jive, so I'm sure they'll jump to RAL as a duo right after this album.
-
yeah, not virgin, jive that's what i meant
-
anyone else hear there track "hit the block" with T.I.?
shit's a fuckin banger. i hope it makes the album.
o, and props on the vid.
-
