A program like Acid, GoldWave, or Cool Edit is perfect for audio chopping and equalizing. Just chop out the sample you need, go into the equalizer and drop the bass, and you'll be set. If you want the sample to sound like it's actually on your piece, it's better just to sample the entire beat as well, or make one very similar. The equalization will give it that "empty" or rehashed sound that most producers use.

Well right now im using reason with recycle. Ive done lots of beats with samples . Sometimes i just leave the original bass but i owuld like to add my own. With the equiliser i can take out the bass but what it does is make the sound very very thin as well and i dont want that , what can i do.

The only thing you can really do is drop the low end. You need an acapella to make the type of sample you are talking about. That or a $5000 module that can identify each channel on the track. I was just listening to "Keep It Gangsta" off Cali Is Active and if you listen to the sample used at the very end, you can still hear the original beat in the background except the lows are dropped.
