I know a lot of you younger West Coast fans and out-of-area fans may not know or care too much about Uncle Jamm's Army, but consider this, this is the crew that launch many of your famous West Coast DJ's and Producers. If they didn't launch them personally, they launched them through people that were a part of it...
I spoke to founder Rodger "Uncle Jamm" Clayton earler and he informed me that they are a day or two away from announcing that Uncle Jamm's Army will be reuniting in March for a special show out here in Southern California.
When I get more details from Rodger, I will let you know (for those interested at least)...
Peace....

i think i heard of him or them
uncle jammy jam right?

Jimmy Jam is from the Minnesota based Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis production team...
Or you could be thinking of West Coast old school great Bobby Jimmy who was really strong with the "comedy" rap....
Uncle Jamm was different... His crew was L.A.'s first DJ network that included Egyptian Lover, Bobcat and many others..

yeah...the only reason i know about these dudes is cause Kurupt says something about them in Black Ty's "Ghetto Dayz" around the 1:53, 1:54 of the song...Kurupt says something like "I gotta lotta rida in me...I was thinking...couple years older...14 smokin and drinkin...thinkin bout Uncle Jams Army...the old folks love it...im just getting up in the game...etc"
What do they sing tho? Any popular Old School shit? If yall got some shit put that up if possible...Anyways...L8z!!!

Tanjibility..... the early unofficial word is somewhere in Anaheim.
Flaco... one of their members "The Egyptian Lover" had popular songs like "Egypt Egypt", "My Beat Goes Boom", "I Need A Freak (Remake)", "What Is A DJ?", "Girls", "Dial-A-Freak".... and more
Uncle Jamm's themselves put out a few songs like "Naughty Boy" and a few others...
They were a DJ crew that drew 10 to 15 thousand people per show at The L.A. Sports Arena, with no groups performing, just DJ's spinning... thats how big and powerful they were..

Uncle Jam's army is a crew of DJ's from the mid 80's. I know Egyptian Lover was down with them and I think DJ Slip from CMW was part of the group too, and DJ Pooh I think, I'm not sure though.
