Amazing, Brilliant movie!! Personally for me it isnt as good as True Romance or Goodfellas but for me this is a legendary movie that was well worth the hype.

and the two matt damon and leanardo dicaprio looked exactly the same throughout the movie

scorsese will definately get a well deserved oscar

the movie is ill. the way it plays out, its like poetry.

It's a great movie, a little confusing at times but great nonetheless. I don't think it's better than Casino though.

Well I just have to watch it again, cus I was on heavy medication when I watched it so I was dozing off on some parts. I let my sister borrow it so I gotta wait for her to bring it back so I could watch it again.

when i was waiting to watch it i knew i was either going to be a) very disapointed or b) pleasantly surprised. it was C. i was completely captivated.

SPOILER ALERT:
best part of the movie IMO was the end, you want matt damon to die, he knows he should die, hell even the fuckin dog in the hallway hates him. then marky mark is there WAITIN, matt damon knows his time is up and just says "okay" and puts his head down. then you see that gold dome roof and a rat crawl on the balcony railing

it was a really good movie, i rented it the other day and kept it 3 days. I watched it 3 times, but i didn't understand the ending. How mark wallhberg did know he was the mole? cuz nowere in the movie it's explained to another character that he is the indict who's working for costello, beside billy, but billy's dead.. Was he a mole too? i didn't get it
I also thought it was a fucking great movie. I'll buy on the dvd when it get's cheaper

Its a great movie. But i wouldnt say its up there with Goodfellas, maybe Casino but not Goofellas

Well, one shouldn't forget that it's a remake of another movie. A mirror-like one, not very original. Except that the people are white instead of Asian, and that everything is set up within western culture and western values.

it's not a shot for shot remake like Psycho, so i don't really see any reason to denigrate it's effectiveness based on it's origins

this is a great movie but I still think Goodfellas is better, but he finally got his Oscar, much overdue

i cant belive that a remake of a 4 years older film, a worse remake i must add, won a oscar.. thats some bullshit.

i'm sorry but no, that performance by forrest was AMAZING, no doubt, but that doesn't equate across the whole film like the departed did with walhberg, dicaprio, nicholson, baldwin, damon, ect. also that movie wasn't even nominated. plus the way scorsese shot that film was :o, the directing compared to infernal affairs was so much better than infernal affairs, then the editing by shoonmaker was :o as well.

I like The Departed but I preferred Infernal Affairs, all the best scenes in The Departed where pretty much straight from Infernal Affairs and Infernal Affairs story just seemed to come together much better.
