Why do Kobe and Carter say they will never participiate again?

I dunno. But probably they don't want to be remembered as "great dunkers" but "great bball players". Expecially Carter. And they are already cool with 1 contest won.

The dunk contest is for the younger guys...You can only participate nowadays if you're in your first 3 seasons.

Not sure, it might not even be true for all I know...I recall a few people on Lakersground saying that a few years back and it just made sense.

They say they dont want to be in the dunk contest because tehy dont want to lose in a dunk contest they proved themselves as being great dunker and if tehy lose to rookies there rep and title will be taken away from them thats why they dont want to be in the dunk comp
