Payton's defense has always been much better, he can actually score by posting up, and had the overall demeanor and attitude that made him standout. Kidd's still playin a lot better than Payton of course, but he came into the game 4 years after him.

GP hasnt been that great since like 2002...

Have some people watched Payton in his prime, dude was a monster on D and he's probably one of the best PG of all the time at posting up... I still go with Kidd coz his ability to drop triple double like it was nothing, is amazing
