Man, even though Mellow Man said Rakim may not come out, DJ Premier says he is doin half the album and he is done the beats already! I got this news from SOHH, peep it:
"Primo is half way done with the new Gangstarr LP,
he is gonna produce the half of Rakim's new LP (he got all the beats ready)
he is gonna produce the whole NYG'z LP (also half way done)
the NYG'z LP is gonna feature artists like MOP, Guru, Krumb, etc."
"DJ Eclipse (of Non-Fixion) was in D&D (Dave & Duck) Studios with Primo and there Primo told him"
Sounds to me like this album is gonna happen; i sure as hell hope so. What y'all think????

???
This is somewhat good news. Primo doing the beats is tight. Rakim and Primo always sound good together. The only problem is that Dre is just so busy. I say if he can't come through let other producers do it like Mel Man,Scott Torch,Alchemist. He should do like 4 or 5 songs.
Seriously though I think we won't see this rakim album until a long time from now :-[

Ya, it could be a while. One thing i wish is Dre and PRemo would do a track together, with Kurupt and Rakim trading rhymes and samplin Kurupt's line from Doggydogg world "Rakim never joked/so why the fukk should i loc"
Now that would be a hot song. Anyway, at least now there is more hope that Rakim is coming out than after what Mellow man said...
-
Don't expect that to go through. It all comes down to Dre, he's ex. producer. The end result will be different...if it happens.
-
Man, even though Mellow Man said Rakim may not come out,
did he say why ?
-
did he say why ?
No, it's a very small chance.

Rakim Should Drop Aftermath If Dr Dre Is Messing Him About (No Not In A Gay Way You Perverts).
-
i agree that rakim should drop outta aftermath if it means releasing a cd that's 50% produced by premier...i could go without dre all over it, but a couple tracks would be tight, peace.
-
Dre may end up producin only a few joints, but he'll come out mixing the whole record and overseeing the project. Anything could happen.

Well I'm happy that premo is getting back to things. I really waiting for that gangstarr album and the rakim album. 2002 is sounding like a good year already.
