Better than Prison Break for sure. Prison Break is more mindless fun, but still fun. Heroes is entertaining but tit takes itself a bit more seriously and makes you think a bit. It may not be The Watchmen re-created on TV but for a Network show on superheroes it's amazing. I prefer over every single comoc cook movie I've ever seen, except for Sin City and Batman Begins, an maybe the first Superman. I've never seen Lost. Smallville is actually pretty good though.

The ratings are superstrong right now and the creator has a large 5 season storyline laid out and usually I get worried when this happens because on NBC the show could go at any second, and with it's production costs it'll have to maintain a 5.0 to justify it staying on the air. It's at like 8.5 now so it's very safe. But even if it does get dropped and doesn't get picked up by a smaller network like CW it'll still finish the story in comic form. I'm sure of it.

great show, im hooked.

its actually kinda shitty gettin hooked on a show right when it starts out....cuz then you gotta wait at least a week between episodes instead of just downloading them all and watchin them right away

Im really excited for the actual Watchmen movie thats supposed to be coming out.  They plan to shoot mars and antarctica so it may span the entire series.

I just hope the don't ruin it like they do almost every other Alan Moore project. I'd prefer an HBO 12 part miniseries instead of a feature film though.

Heroes Changes In Season 2

Tim Kring, creator of NBC's hit series Heroes, told SCI FI Wire that the upcoming second season will constitute a new volume in the multi-volume series, with new characters and an entirely new storyline. "If you remember, the opening of the pilot pronounced the episode as the beginning of Volume One," Kring said in an interview. "Volume One comes to a conclusion at the end of episode 23, and Volume Two starts with the opening of season two. And Volume Two is a different story."

Kring added: "We could have new people and new storylines and new ideas and new threats and new bad guys and new heroes. So I would prepare the audience for that idea, that it's not just a continuing serialized storyline about only these people. It's a little more the 24 model than the Lost model."

The first season of Heroes is exploring what happens when a disparate group of ordinary people discover they have extraordinary abilities and attempt to save New York from disaster.

"Heroes needs to evolve, and if we are positing an idea that this is happening all over the world to many, many people, then we get to see some of those people and see how their story fits in."

Kring also confirmed that some of the current heroes just might not survive this season, but added: "Many of your favorites will live to fight again." Heroes airs on Monday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT. —Kathie Huddleston

would have just liked the current storyline to expand more :-\

^^ Don't like that idea either.. One of the reasons why I watch shows is because of the characters and to see them evolve through the years.. This sounds good for the sponsors, since the big problem for shows with huge arcs is that it's pretty impossible for a new person to just come in halfway through a story, and so the ratings don't rise as much.. But the downside to this is that the core fans will become angry and leave the show next year, since the original cast that they have become fond with leaves all of a sudden..

They premiered the first two episodes last night here in Belgium, and I must say...pretty damn good! I'm usually not into movies/series that involves supernatural powers, but somehow I seem to like this show.

maybe Linderman healed him

the only thing that pisses me off about this show, everytime there is going to be an awesome fight they end up getting out of it somehow (peter killed straight away, last night they fight off screen), i guess they don't have the budget they need yet

Yeah and how many comic since Watchmen have used that template? How many amazing comics? Just be glad that Network TV is getting it right for a change. I'm willing to bet that Heroes season 1 ends up better than the Watchmen movie will. It's very rare for Hollywood to take superhero stories and make them good. Heroes does that. There's no shame in having similarities to Watchmen, although it borrows more from Rising Stars than it does Watchmen.

for all we know, if future Hiro never went back in time to tell Peter to save claire, then present day Hiro might never have met Peter, and since Peter & Sylar are similar looking he could've confused them

either way we know Peter is the bomb in the current timeline and was the bomb in the future timeline, that's probably what happened

SPOILER ALERT for those who haven't been watching

I hope they explain why Hiro couldn't Sylar. Hiro thought it was because he had Claire's power but Claire was alive in the future. It looks like they will explain it but if by chance they just ignore it. Of course time travel stories are always screwy. Why couldn't future hero just go back and kill Sylar himself?

they explained with the Hiro/Charlie storyline, they can't go back and change the past (hiro couldnt save charlie whatever he tried), but the future technically hasn't happend so its up for grabs

having it so they cant change the past also means there are some limitations to hiro's powers, which is a good thing

Dr. Manhattan wasnt a power he was more like infinite wisdom and he was more dead than anything, it wasnt a natural power in the sense of powers.  Ozymandius wasnt a power either just a peak specimen.  All of his abilities came from working out and training and he had a genius intellect to boot.

cant wait for the movie tho.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

He had incredible superhuman powers didn't he? What does it matter how he got them. I guess Hulk or Spiderman don't really have powers either because they were simply expirements gone bad like Manhattan.

oh yeah, I forgot about that. At first I thought it was a tumor that killed her in both cases, but then I remembered the blood. But he did change the past in a sense. He went back and altered the life of Charlie and everyone else in the bar. If he had decided to kill one of them would they un-die? Like I said time travelling storytelling is always tricky.

Very disapointing finale. Episodes leading up it it were crap aswell. What was that last battle between Peter and Saylar? they didn't even use any powers. Why did peter not just teleport away? why did Nathan have to fly him away? heaps of shit dosen't make sense.
There's gonna be a six episode mini series in the break about the new heroes i believe
Title: Re: HEROES!
Post by: The Watcher on May 25, 2007, 02:08:39 AM
Peter didnt fly away because his system was going haywire and he couldnt control any of his powers, which is why he just stood there

i hope they get a bigger budget next year, the reason im watching this show is for the superpowered fights

it was good seeing peter beat down sylar for a change insted of being on the end of an ass whooping
