This song is :o :o :o :o :o
It could easily have been a track on Doggystyle! Snoops rips that shit just like we love it!
I think it's a very underrated cut.
What's your thougts and do you agree with me!?
-
it's cool, can get old if you've heard it enough times

couldnt agree more. I really like the track but it does tend to get old.
-
Not sure if I've ever heard it.. can you hook it up?
-
I love this track
-
They recycled Snoop's vocals on it but yeah it's dope.

Yeah Snoop's verse is from a song on the Above The Rim soundtrack. I think it was Big Pimpin.

It wasn't Big Pimpin'.

I got to find that album but that Snoop verse is from something else.
-
nah man, he recorded it for this track. I think daz said when snoop rerecord his verse it could blow up.
it has got a bad quality.
-
Cool track. I wouldn't go quite as far as saying it's "Doggystyle good." But it's definately good. I also have to say that I burnt myself out on it, though. But for a while there, I was listenin' to "Revenge, Retaliation, and Get Back" all the time. I think I know what D-nice is talking about. I can't remember what, but I think I've heard Snoop spit a similar verse on something else. There's just too damn many Snoop Dogg songs for me to remember which one, right now.

I can't remember the track but I remember his verse being on something else. When I find it or can remember the track I will post, but that verse was on something else and I think it was before RR&GB.

i think it was Nate Dogg recycling... i don't know what came first but one of Nate's parts appears in his song "Nobody Does It Better Than Me"
-
Song is decent, but mos def aint Doggystyle quality. Nate Dogg's verse is recycled from one of the joints off his album and Snoop's is recycled from Dogg Pound 4 Life off the Above the Rim soundtrack.

I was thinking Dogg Pound 4 Life but I was not sure. I knew Snoop was on 2 songs on there. Thanks man +1, I thought I was going crazy but I knew I heard it from somewhere.
-
they shout-out warren g on the song, he aint on the song, he even aint on tha album.
-
I wouldn't call it Doggystyle quality but its pretty damn good
-
Never heard of this. Someone got it?
-

that would be a classic. shame to all who haven't heard it. Let's beat the clock up and pass some time June 17th 1979 that's my first time being arrested I know i did the crime but i ain't gone confess to the shit I learned that from the G'z a G is a overseer the overseer sees
-
its a dope track but the mixing coulb been better
-
it's doggystyle quality sure but it just doesn't sound like something offa doggystyle. it sounds more dogg food/daz ish...because it is.
either way classic track that I also played out.

One of my favorite Daz tracks & the 2nd best track on "RR&GB"
Everybody kills this song, classic DPG shit 8)
-
Song was slated to appear on one of the Death Row soundtracks. Good thing Daz saved it for his album instead.

Suge & Daz did Snoop dirty by recycling his Dogg Pound 4 Life verse but yeah it is a cool track.
-
+1 d-nice. you dat ninja.

That was my first thought after a while was that I know Snoop got to be pissed about this. Oh well. Daz had some CRAZY beats on this album. Our Daily Bread is the shit on here too. Kurupt was also in rare form on this album.
-
It kinda sounds to me like Snoop redid his verse for the song, cuz he doesnt spit it exactly the same as he does on Dogg Pound 4 Life. His flow's a lil more laid back than when he originally spit it.

I think Snoop said that verse was not authorized by him to be on his album. Either way it fit that song but hearing the same verse from a song 2-3 years prior to that one was ???

thats true. he redid his verse!
of course, snoop was pissed of because he left death row and they used his material..

Mine favourite has always been "In California"...
-
"Initiated" was my favorite track from this album, Kurupt, Pac and the Outlawz all kill their verses
-
Upload please!

The very first joint on that album w/ just about everybody on it (Daz, Kurupt, Tray-Dee, Soopafly, Bad & Tech) is so HARD. That ill lil' simple ass keyboard bassline is gangsta as hell. I forgot how good that album really was, I kinda slept on it when it first came out.
-
I always loved that track....Then I again I pretty much dig everything Sean "Barney Rubble" Thomas had a hand in while on Death Row. He did the keyboards on O.G. Plus he worked on the following tracks:

"California Love" - Dr. Dre / Tupac
"California Love" (remix) - Tupac
"Lodi Dodi" - Doggystyle
"Murder Was The Case" - Doggystyle
"Aint No Fun" Doggystyle
"Doggy Dogg World" • Doggystyle
“Big Pimpin" - Above The Rim Soundtrack
"Afro Puffs" Above The Rim Soundtrack
"U Bring Da Dogg Out" Above The Rim Soundtrack
"Natrual Born Killaz" Murder Was The Case Soundtrack
"21 Jumpstreet" Murder Was The Case Soundtrack
"U Betta Recognize"- Murder Was The Case Soundtrack
"Cant C Me" - All Eyes On Me
"O.G." - Retaliation Revenge and Get Back Daz Dillinger
"Keep Their Heads Ringin" - Death Row's Greatest Hits
"Who Been There, Who Done That" Death Row's Greatest Hits

"Lost “Lost Souls" - Gang Related Soundtrack
"Change To Come" - Gang Related Soundtrack

"Because I Got A Girl" - Nate Dogg Ghetto Preacher
"Round And Round" - Twinz
As far as I knew I didn't even know he was still around (after he and J-Flexx dissed Dre he kinda disappeared from the radar) but a quick google and there ya go. These days the dude is the President of Kountree Boyz music????...quite a departure from Death Row I guess. He's apparently still producing (everything from country to hip-hop) and if interested you can check out some of his newer work and remixes here http://www.kountreeboyzentertainment.com/music.php (beware if you click the link You may encounter country music)
as far as getting back to the subject at hand....yeah I like the track :)
-
yeah man, sean thomas is a good keyboarder. i dont know if he released some tracks after the 96era

yeah "Gang Bangin Ass Criminal" was that joint, I bumped it hard when it first came out but I guess alot of people slept on it cause it didn't sell much but looking back that was one of the last true G-Funk sounding records to come out
-
can someone hook me up w.gang bangin ass criminal? My version is messed up.
