I agree with Mac10.
I don't know who arranged it to be this way, or how you guys came to set it up this way... although this (assigning a different number of points for different ranks) works well when trying to come up with a "list" of the greatest players, but it's shit when trying to vote for the "GOAT"... for example..

Interesting facts:
- There were only 5 people who voted for Lev Yashin. and they put him all at #1
- Lev Yashin and Schmeichel has the most #1 spots
^ that should've automatically implied that the final vote should be between Schmeichel and Yashin... just my 2 cents.

I know. Lev Yashin should be the GOAT. But we discused a long time about this, and everyone agreed to do it this way.
If anyone has a better idea, go ahead set it up. All i know is, we discussed a long time about this, we even started over again, and everybody agreed to it this way.
But im not gonna start over with it.

If everyone agreed to do it this way, then cool... can't complain... I'm just saying it's not a very effective/accurate way of conducting something like this... a list yeah, but not a GOAT type thing.. it's all good though.

If everyone felt Yashin was the GOAT then he would he won the original voting and be in the final. I don't see any problem with doing it this way, these were the top two voted for so obviously the final vote will be between them.

Yeah, but the argument is about how the winner in the original voting is determined... should someone who has been ranked 3rd/4th like 8 times (I'm making these numbers to explain my point) be ahead of someone who was only voted for 5 times, but #1 all 5 times...? After all, we're voting for the GOAT, so isn't that what the #1 spot constitutes? Why assign points to somebody being voted in at #3? If you're only voting once before having to choose between two finalists, it would make more sense to have those ranked #1 most frequently... ya dig?

If you're only having one preliminary before a FINAL round, that would actually make sense, since we're voting for the GOAT... creating a list of the top players is only useful when you're doing what they did with the Football/Basketball ones (aka playoff type voting)...

Well, now you have this lop-sided match-up... 5-0 so far... when five people voted Yashin at #1 earlier (same as Schmeichel)... I think it would be a closer match-up if it were Yashin vs. Schmeichel... and it would make sense, since they both tied for the most #1 votes. But whatever... it's your guys' thing... not a big deal... no point in starting over... one possible solution would be to just take into account who got the most #1 votes, and just have the final round be Yashin vs. Schmeichel.
What you guys are doing now... having a list and assigning a different number of points to each rank would work out when voting for the other positions... since you'd have 4-4-2/4-3-3 (several players for each position)

Nah he's doin coo... it's not like he single-handedly made the decision... other people voted and agreed to have it run this way... they probably just didn't think it through to judge its effectiveness

I get what youre saying Jamal, we did a lot of thinking , you shouldve seen the other threads lol. The thing was, we didnt like the way don jacob did his thing with american football. So we came up with this.
But you what it is with lev yashin, not to many people really know him. I knew his name but just until a few weeks (after mac10 pointed it out) i knew what he accomplished.
So the people that knew him, put him in the #1 spot, cuz if you know him you cant put him below #1. So you see the other people dont really know him, cuz if they would have known him they wouldve put him #1.
I think this problem will only get less as we move up the team. Cuz you wouldnt have this problem, with the forwards or midfielders, cuz everyone knows about them
But if you guys want to start over again, be my guest i dont got a problem with that, cuz were only at the first spot, so no harm done so far.

We didnt like the way don jacob did his thing, so everyone agreed to do it this way. Only jamal wasnt there when we were discussing it at first. So its all good.

All I'm saying is that we already re-did the voting once, and there seemed to be a lot of controversy surrounding this whole thing before we finally made it to this stage. I'm sure it's not his fault, but this thing is not really running smoothly. Dont you agree...?
I've been trying to tell you guys ALL ALONG to just do it the official way.. the way Jake did it. All you have to do is copy exactly what he did. It works best that way, but no one listened and this happened... :-\

The thing on what we did agree on was, we didnt want to do it don jacobs way. So thats why we came up with another thing.
But read my other post, things will get better as we move further up in the team.

Let me be the only one to support Zoff. He won a WC and an European Championship as a captain. But Yashin was also a legend.
