Man; after readin that interview, I feel pitty for Warren G.  He's never caught up with Dre on an album since "2001."  I mean, I'm really glad Dre handled the production so Warren could concentrate on his mc'n.  Looks like Dre has one track for the album.

Warren g is a TIGHT producer, way better than Battlecat and the other fools behind the boards on dogghouse.
Snoop don't understand this,why?
How he can prefer Battlecat to Warren g? >:(

The "G-funk era" WARREN G helped perpetuate went on to influence everything from the bump of the Dirty South to the swagger of the Midwest. On The Return of the Regulator, WARREN plays on that universal funk sound, while still working with some of his people from back in the day. Produced by Dr. Dre, the album's lead single is the smooth head-nodder "Lookin' At You." The song features up-and-coming R&B singer Toi who complements WARREN's effortless, conversational flow. The majority of the album's other tracks were produced by WARREN G himself. On the party jam, "Speed Dreaming," he got to work with one of his personal heroes, George Clinton. "It was amazing," he beams. "He's one of the reasons I'm doing what I'm doing so it was great to work with him on that song. He coached me a lot on arranging songs - and on that track you'll actually hear the arrangement skills he taught me."

Recording The Return of the Regulator was somewhat of a triumph for WARREN G. He was having professional and financial trouble as a result of a previous record deal, "The label didn't understand the type of artist I was and the relationship didn't work," he says diplomatically. More significantly, WARREN had some personal tragedies, such as the deaths of his mother and his grandfather. "Keepin' It Strong," a heartening song that features El DeBarge was recorded as a tribute to his mother. He cites it as one of the most important songs on the album. "I wanted people to feel my pain out there. A lot of people act crazy towards their mothers and then when you lose them, they be trippin'. I want them to learn to respect and love their mothers while they still have them."

Aside from the first single WARREN G also worked with some of his other Southern California folks. "Yo Sassy Ways" is dubbed a 213 reunion, wrangling together Warren G, Snoop Dogg and Nate Dogg on a mellow, old-soul cut as they each fete the styles of their favorite females. Nate Dogg also lends his soul-stirring vocals to the punchy "Here Comes Another Hit," where WARREN G unveils a quick-tongued rhyming flow, this track also features the vocals of Mista Grimm. Another Los Angeles peer, WC (of Westside Connection) pops in on "Young Locs Slow Down," a powerful song warning today's youth about the less glamorous side of gang life.

WARREN likes that The Return of the Regulator displays some shades of those earlier days. "I miss those days when we're all chillin' together," he recalls. "But now when we get together, it's like magic."

With The Return of the Regulator it is apparent that both WARREN G and his particular brand "G-funk" are here to stay.

It's going to be a great album... but what I don't understand is how Warren says Snoop hasn't hollered at him... because Warren just did some production for Snoop and Tha Eastsidaz on the song  "If you came to Party" on the Bones Soundtrack... however it sounds too Battlecat... I actually thought it was BC until Snoop said something about Warren on the track... Snoop and Warren definetly hooked up on that song, they also hooked up on a Tamia Remix... it's kind of weird how Warren is feeling left out... but shit if he feels that way, its time to spread the love...

I am pissed off right now y'all, as are alot of you.  Warren is the tightest, and he knows what the fukk he is talking about it.  I would rtather here 213 than Eastsidaz anyday.  Snoop is putting time into alot of wack shit lately, not wack, just not quality as i would expect.
And BPG, you can count the number of tracks Warren has appeared on in the last few years on one hand.  Warren wasn't even on Chronic 2001, Last Meal, isn't on Nates new shit yet he always puts them on his shit.  That's why the brother is complaining.  I always wonder why Warren doesn't do more shit, but it doesn't matter, cuz like he said his shit is HOT, and every song is good enough to be a single.  THat is cuz the man is doing QUALITy, not quantity.  Fo real!

yeah I agree with everything you said homie. You can count all his appearances on one hand. Hes complaing cause he puts it out on his shit and not on guest appearances. Snoop has been on a grip of guest songs these days, and its about quality not quantity

yeah i am pissed as fuck that warren ain't on more shit, but somebody said i'd rather hear 213 than eastsidaz which i would too, but i'm sure snoop probably knows it would be better but tha eastsidaz are on the dogghouse label so it has priority.  i would bet money that if warren had signed to dogghouse 213 would come out for sure!

oh yeah does anybody else wonder why suga free  is on like every dogghouse release but no warren. i mean i really feel suga free but fuck put tha g child on that shit!

Check my new Warren G site

http://gfunk-family.cjb.net

SUPPORT ME AND THE MAN. Fuck the rest.

Snoop is making 200 tracks a year just to make money, but we all know he aint shit no more. C'mon.. Only 3-4 decent tracks a year! The last track i felt by Snoop is NY NY! Period.

DO YOU EVER LISTENED TO "I WANT IT ALL" CD? IT'S BETTER THAN ALL THE SNOOP'S TRACKS TILL DOGGYSTYLE. NO FUCKING DOUBT.

I'm not hating Snoop, but please.. u cant compare him to the man who introduced him to Dre. WARREN G is real. 10X BETTER!

"DO YOU EVER LISTENED TO "I WANT IT ALL" CD? IT'S BETTER THAN ALL THE SNOOP'S TRACKS TILL DOGGYSTYLE. NO FUCKING DOUBT."

Man u are crazy!
I Want It All is wack album,only 2 or 3 songs are good(game don't wait-you never know-g spot),the others.... :P :P

Title: Re: NEW WARREN G INTERVIEW!!!
Post by: Antonio on October 10, 2001, 06:36:37 AM
Man.. i think tha U are crazy!  :P
Dont start disses here, but.. first of all Warren G aint claiming to be a gangsta. His shit is G-Funk, slow melodies, funky shit. And he's the best in the world making this shit. "I WANT IT ALL" has the best productions ever in my opinion (if u talk about a G-FUNK album). Great tracks, great collaborations.. and def this album is better than THE LAST MEAL or the new EASTSIDAZ. Man.. think about Snoop. He's claiming to be a gangster! LMAO! I hate Death Row, but.. damn. they fucking right! Snoop a G? U joking? He was just a crack sealer, and Warren G gave him the chance to make millions with rap. He was just a stupid young man, making money selling dope. I think that Harry O can be labeled as a Gangsta. Suge Knight. They real gansters, not Snoop. LMAO!  ;D

I can't feel his shit if he talks about being a G.

Plus u mentioned 2 tracks with Snoop in it in the best tracks, but they aint the best tracks, man! I mean.. u never heard "IF WE GIVE U A CHANCE" with Slick Rick? it aint G shit, but.. it's a perfect track. Or GANGSTA LOVE? or HAVIN THANGS? or I WANT IT ALL? Man.. stop considering GANGSTA SHIT the only way u can rap. G-FUNK is better in my opinion, but.. this aint the most important thing.

The most important thing is that Warren G aint fake like Snoop (these days). I mean.. Warren made him, Warren saved his life from crack, Warren produced a lot of tracks for him, Warren made Nate famous with Regulate, Warren is real.

Snoop is just a bitch making 300 tracks a year (3 decents, the rest  :P :P) just to make money. He aint working with Nate cause he's signed to too many records label, he aint working with Warren G cause he aint on Dogghouse. Man.. that's fucked up. When Warren got problems, Snoop never hollared at his homey.

Period.

Think what u think, but i cant change what i wrote, man. These are facts. Then u can reply by dissing me or Warren G, i dont care. I'm not dissing nobody.

01. G-FUNK is better than DOGGHOUSE.
02. Snoop is a joke (a G...?)
03. Warren G is better than Battlecat
04. 5 Footaz are better than Doggy's Angels
05. Warren made Snoop and saved his life
06. Snoop cares about quantity ($$$), not quality
07. How can u be excited about a track like DOGG NAMED SNOOP (or what the fuck is the name?)
08. Snoop aint shit without the DPG or other artists (EASTSIDAZ, DRE, etc..). He tried to make an album working alone (DA GAME IS TO BE SOLD), and it was the worse album of the rap history.
09. THE NEW 7 TRACKS SAMPLER of Warren is better than any DOGGHOUSE shit ever released.
10. Warren G is a producer, executive producer, CEO, rapper and dj. Snoop is just a fake G making money..

Pz.

The saddest thing is that i'm starting to feel SUGE KNIGHT. I need a doctor.  :-[

Damn, i'm tired of Snoop. He is claiming to be a G but he aint acting like a G. He aint making G-Shit no more.. Only talk, only interviews acting like an hard man. But where are the facts? I think that the GANGSTA RAP is dead with 2PAC.

All these old guys rapping about 17 years old crazy guys, like 2PAC, just to sell some shit..

I mean.. if Snoop make a track saying "FUCK THE COPZ, I'M HARD TO KILL, I'M BACK, etc.." this track is a classic. If he make a track like "SHOW ME LOVE" (DA GAME IS TO BE..), he's wack.

MAN.. what u wanna heard? REAL tracks, or FAKE tracks? Real stories (like "Do You See" or Warren G), or FAKE lyrics like "Downtown assassins"?) Reply to this question. Ok, maybe Downtown assassins got a tight beat and Snoop's flow is dope, but.. think about it a second. U ever read the lyrics? They funny, damn!

I SUGGEST YOU ALL A TRACK:
"RELAX YA MIND", by WARREN G.....  :P

Dont talk the talk, if..

G-FUNK RECORDS and G-FUNK 2000 RECORDS..

under DEF JAM and RESTLESS..
He signed artists like Twinz, Reel Tight, etc..

Man, man...

he wasnt the CEO of the whole Record label, but.. of his own Record label under the big one..

Like Goldie with his new record label (under Dogghouse), or like Snoop with Doggystyle (under DR), or Daz with DoggPound under DR..

And dont diss if u dont even know what the fuck are u talking about..

10. Warren G is a producer, executive producer, CEO, rapper and dj (FACT). Snoop is just a fake G making money.. (ok, opinion, but... eheheheh.. u know..)

About the posts, hey.. isnt this a talk board?  ???

I LEFT YOU ALL WITH A QUOTE OF SNOOP.

Naw, u aint strange, man. The track is ok.

p.s. TO C_R_O_N_I_C_I
This is what this man wrote (translated in english):

"Don't break my balls, u dont like Snoop Dogg? U love Warren so much? Well, give him your ass seen that u love him so much. Snoop Dogg is way better than your dear Warren, so don't break my balls, fool." (and i cleaned some words..)

Well, i dont think i need to reply. I wrote you i'm not here to diss members of the board. I like all the opinions of all the guys, but.. YOU'S A FOOL. Where are your answers anyway? If u cant reply (cause i'm right and u cant admit i'm right..), just ignore the message and read another one. Dont diss like 10 years old, man.

05 - Warren Didn't make snoop.  He Was Down With Snoop, But I Don't Hear Anybody Saying That About Cube Making Ren, Cube Introduced Ren To NWA... What?  Snoop Made Himself, By His Flow And His Lyrics, He Was Good.  Remember, They Hadn't Done Anything When Snoop Met Dre, Warren Hadn't Produced Anything For Snoop.  Whether or Not Warren Saved Snoop's Life Is Another Matter, Maybe He Did, But Come On, What You Goin' By, Lyrics In A Song? LOL... Yeah, We Know Those Are Always Reliable, Right?

10.  - Warren's A Producer, Exec, CEO, Rapper, And DJ, True.  Snoop's A Producer, Exec, CEO, Rapper, And Freestyler... Wha's The Difference?

Warren Deserves MAD Props.  In Fact, I Agree, I Want It All Was A VERY Good Album, Gangsta Love, The Slick Rick Song, All That Stuff, I Play It Weekly, I Mean, That's What An Album's All About.  But You Don't Need To Go Attacking Snoop Becasue Of It, DAmn, Warren has NOTHING But Love For Snoop.  They're 2 Different People, Shit.  It's Sad That Warren Hasn't Hooked With Dre Or Snoop Much, But Hell, You Don't know What's Going On... Maybe Warren's Gay or Something, Hell, We Don't Know The Story, Shit.  All I Know Is The Music, Snoop makes Great Songs, Warren Arguably Makes Even Better Songs, Who Cares About The REst Of The Drauma,  Because We Don't Know What's Going On.

I'm Just Super Hyped For This Album, And I'm Glad Warren G Is Back in Things, Even If Dre And Snoop Ain't Hookin' Up With Him Much.  Personally, A Dre/Warren Produced Album is Right Up There With DJ Quik, 3 Dopest Westcoast Producers Of All Time.

Oh, Another Point That Hasn't Really Been Stressed, Is That I BELIEVE There's Been An Effort By Dre To Let Warren Stand on His Own 2 Feet, He Ain't tryna Give Warren A Free Ride, Because Then Peeps Would Discredit Warren... So I Think That's Why Dre Don't Work With Warren, But Man, If I Was Out, And Needed Production, Warren Would Be The #1 Place I'd Look, Quik And Dre Are Pretty Much Untouchable But Warren's  Almost As Good, And Would Be More Accessable, I Would think.

Title: Re: NEW WARREN G INTERVIEW!!!
Post by: Antonio on October 11, 2001, 03:27:50 AM
Trauma..

Lemme clear well some things..
About Warren making Snoop, i was obviously talking about his "life". I mean.. he was one of his best friends, he saved his life, he changed the mentality of the man, he introduced him to Dre. I'm not saying that Warren was a great rapper and that musically he made Snoop. In no way. We all know this. He was a dj, and Snoop was a rapper, so... two totally different things. I mean.. when a man helped you so much with real life (like Warren did), you GOTTA have respect for the man. LIFE is more important than music, u know.. We all know Snoop got his own flow. Probably he created a whole new style of rap, so... i agree with you that musically nobody made him. But again, i wasnt talking about MUSIC! If it wasnt for Warren, Snoop was still selling cracks, man! Or he was still in jail, or in a casket. He made him a rapper, he made him a millionaire with the rap (then it's clear that it was because Snoop got skills and not because of Warren). U know what i mean? If u take a young man selling drugs, and you let him go to a studio making some rap tracks, and he got skills, then.... U MADE HIM. Not musically, but as a man u saved his life and u CHANGED his life. Then it's all in the hands of this rapper, we all know this.

About the second point, Snoop a producer? List me 10 tracks he produced (not good tracks, just tracks!). I mean Snoop didnt produce his shit, man! The beats, etc.. He just raps. While Warren made beats, discovers talents, etc.. He discovered The Twinz, Reel Tight, 5 Footaz, Dove Shack, etc.. And arguably Snoop & Nate. It's a different thing, man. Warren is a real CEO. Plus he's is like Daz: he can work in his house and make tight tracks. Alone. Anyway this doesnt make him better, but.. he's better in my opinion. Most complete. That's all.

I agree with the other shit u wrote (of course), but man.. i'm not "HATING" Snoop because of this shit. I'm just tired to listen to tracks like DOWNTOWN ASSASSINS. That's all. U feel me? I can listen to Pac rapping some gangsta shit. I can listen to Snoop rapping gangsta shit (back in the days, not now). I can listen to NWA rapping some gangsta shit (back in the days), but.. DAMN!! U read the quote i wrote?

"I Might Rap About The Gansta Life, But I will never Live it Again.."

That's what i hate about Snoop. And the fact that he's a stupid cause he prefeer Tha Eastsidaz (boring shit, with Kokane all over this shit) to the 213 (every single track they made is a CLASSIC). Butch to Nate. Goldie to Warren. Battlecat to Warren. Doggy's Angels to 5 Footaz. ETC..

He's making 300 tracks a year but damn, stop this man! 99% are made just to make money! Always the same lyrics, boring shit. Fake shit. I'm tired...

I think we cant judge rappers careers until they are over. When Snoop will be 50 y. o. and we'll be chillin off his 30th album there will already be some 213 collabo albums in our CD-shelves, and some Snoop & Dre, and some Snoop & Warren albums. ALBUMS, ya hear me? And if Snoop & Warren will stay smart in business like today, those will all be quality music. Dont judge about them today, when everything is rushed and everybody tries to make more money to save his future. Lets judge them when we get adult and they get old, cuz only then it will be retrospective. yknow, when u got time & money u can go back to your roots, gather all your childhood friends together. Thats when we'll get more classics (Eastsidaz will get classic too, we just dont feel it now cuz the album is fresh off the factory).

And the time will tell. Who knows maybe Warren will conquer America with his Regulator CD, and evrybody will be on his dick. What will the chronic addict say then?  :) :) :)

Seriously, dont say that Snoop gets you tired. Just imagine he dies - what will the industry turn into? No DPG, no LBC community, everything will fall apart. Dont hate on the Prince of Gangsta shit. He makes history.

Wasnt Pac's death gang related? Homie, i aint pissed off cause Snoop aint a G no more. I'm not that kind of stupid who blaime Snoop cause he doesnt live on the ghetto no more. If you escape from the ghetto, you a good man, not a wack man. And i agree with him calling him out the gangsta shit. He got a wife, kids, etc.. I feel the man, and i agree. Rap is music, not Gangsta shit. But i dont feel him repping Crips. Repping Gangsta shit. TODAY! Why? I think it's time to get back to the real essence of the 213. To back to G-Funk. Snoop is changed, but the music is still the same. The music and reflecting the man no more. That's why i'm tired.

Pac changed during his life, and his music changed too. The first Pac had the "I dont give a fuck" mentality. Their tracks were about politic, about Black Panthers, about blacks vs police, police vs Black Panthers. About social problems, about racism.. Then Pac went to jail, and he had something like a suicidal mentality. Me against the world, me against the media. They (the media) wanna kill me! Then he was saved by Suge, and he had both an happy mentality and a mad mentality. He was happy cause he was re-born, but he was mad because of BIG & Bad Boy Records. In The Don Killuminati, he's a changed man. Matured. He talks about being born again, and all this shit. And his music refects these changes, you know what i mean? This is what i'm talking about. In the last days of his life, he wanted to quit rapping. He wanted to do something for the hood, for the kids. And that's why we have tracks like "The Good Die Young", or "Letter 2 my unborn", or "Words to my unborn child", etc.. I cant see this shit in Snoop. Ok, maybe good gansta shit tracks, but.... they aint reflecting his personality. DR aint wrong when they said Snoop is a studio gangster now. Cause he's just a storyteller, not a rapper. Rap is to talk about problems, about the hood, about you, your life, your passions, your problems. Like Pac did (u talked about Pac, i'm talking about Pac!). I cant see this shit in Snoop no more. That's why i'm tired.

SIBERIAN_WOLF
I know Snoop is the history of rap. I know he's the boss. I know if he dies there will be no DPG or 213. But.. just cause he's the boss and he CAN move things, i'm pissed off by his moves. If he wasnt important, i wasnt pissed off. U feel me?

Snoop doesnt make his moves himself, weed is what makes it. He's all chronic, you gotts remember that. Sober people dont infect their albums with Kokanes and dont make songs like Downtown Assassins. Take it like it is.

BTW if Snoop would be deep into gangsta life he'd be shot like 5 years ago. And the rap would be all jarule, no real shit at all.

peace im going home fuck the internet

Nope, but if i see a Crip, and he got problems with some Bloods of my entourage, and this man kicked a man of my entourage, and i kick his ass, and i kick him bad. And i go out with my car and my entourage and a car full of Crips kill me, then i call it gang related, yeah.

Crips vs Bloods.

Even if Pac wasnt a gang member or a Blood. He wasnt killed because of a rap war, or because some1 tried to rob him. He was killed because he kicked the ass of the wrong man that night. And because he had no vest.

Anyway read what i wrote about Pac & Snoop.

Is it a rumor that he kicked Orlando's ass? I think i got it on DVD, VHS, pics, MPEG, AVI, ASF, rm & WMV!  ;D

Is it a rumor that Suge is Blood?

Is it a rumor that Orlando was Crip?

Is it a rumor that Orlando kicked a man of the crew of Pac? (i dont remember the name)

Is it a rumor that the week after the Pac shooting there was a lot of murders between Bloods and Crips?

Is it a rumor that Afeni sued Orlando?

Is it a rumor that Orlando was the #1 suspect?

Is it a rumor that Orlando is dead?

You're Subjecting Snoop To Standards You Won't Turn At Your Other Favorites.

Tupac Was THE Most Hypocritical Rapper To Ever Live.  How Are You Going To Make A Song Like Dear Mama, And In The Next Breath, Hit Em UP?  Because Life CONSTANTLY Changes, Everybody Has MANY Facets.  Tupac WAS Hypocritical, But EVERYBODY Is, That's How Life Is.

That's Why You Shouldn't Get Pissed At Snoop For Being Peaceful, Then Banging, Or Whatever In His Music, Because That's How Life Is, That's How People Think, And Your Boy Tupac Did The Same.

Same With Warren, Right? I've Heard Him Mention Guns In Songs Before To, And His New Stuff Sounds Kinda Hard For Him, ButI Ain't Holding It Against Him, It's Still Tight, And I Know That 's How People Feel Sometimes.

What I'm saying Is, Don't Criticise Snoop For Something, Then Say It's Alright For Somebody Else, Like Tupac to Do.

Man, i dont agree. Pac was the greatest ever because tracks like "Dear Mama" and "Hit em up". They are both real cause they both reflect his status, his personality, his emotions. "Keep ya head up", "Brenda's got a baby" & "Baby don't cry" are wonderful tracks, man. Then u can say.... "Hey, but he raped a girl! He's hypocritical!". He made a lot of mistakes during his life, we all know. I dont know if he really raped this girl, but i'm talking in general, u know.. Cause he was surrounded by thugs, always high, etc.. But his music REFLECTS his status. U can hear if he's happy or mad. In the Snoop tracks, all u can hear is "superbitches", "chronic", "g's", "dpgcabcdefc..".. Only this shit. No emotions. Always the same BORING (fake) shit. That's all. And u are free to hate Pac, man. I dont care... I mean he made a lot of mistakes. Like the West vs East beef. He dissed the world, he made 300 mistakes in 1996 only (i can list em all), BUT............... talking about music, you can FEEL him through his music, so his music is REAL.
