A long time ago i got summer breeze as a throwback joint from this website, which might i add begin my major interest in DJ Quik :D anyway yeah i import the file to SonicStage recently so i can transfer it to my mp3, and it came under a specfic album name of DubCC Top 100 Westcoast Tracks of All time, now i might not have been around to see this topic, but what is this about?
-
i think it was ppl giving their opinions on their top 20 best Westcoast songs ever
then somebody went thru all the lists and the top 100 list was made and another person did an amazing job of uploading all the songs
-
I remember downloading all that, I think forum members voted and someone upped all the songs. Half of them where Dre tracks if I remember.

Wow maddd props if anyone takes the time to upload that again,
chill
-
Yeah i wouldn't say no to someone uploading it all again and reviving that topic :D
-
I used to have it on my pc...
-
i still have it somewhere, ill dig it out...
may do a dubcnn feature on it, it was very popular...
-
Goooo Onnnn Rud, you know you want to! I wish i was signed up to the boards when that topic took place, most of those tracks were classics while some i've never even heard of.
-
You really think that's a dope top 100? 2/3 of it is Dre, Quik, Snoop, Warren G & Xzibit. No kidiing or dissing, but this list misses so many classics and got too many song on it, that aren't that classic.
I believe I could do a better top 100.
-
Then why don't you arrange and do your own vote thingy majic, i know for sure that wasn't easy for the guy who did it before. The people voted it, he just pretty much tallied the votes. Yeah that's a good idea, make one you think should be tops. A second list won't hurt anyone.
-
you think i should do my own top 100? or i should do a second vote? because a second vote would be senseless, people would vote the same shit again.

Do your own top 100 homie. Id like to see who you put on there.
-
aight, give me like 30 to 60 mins Pimp
-
What GP said, though don't get it twisted i'd like to see that orignal top 100 back up, it's just you make a second list then and let us know when you're done.
-
Okay, I'm finished. I'm now writing it down, stay tuned a few minutes.

So, here is my top 100. notice that I made it when I was in the mood for some tracks. It was hard for me to rank every track, cause some are same level to me, I think it would be suggestive, if we start another vote with this list or something. I could easily do place 101-150 so it was difficult for me to let a few bangers out but I felt that the ones that made it in the list are better today. I also got to mention that I had to let out one of my all-time favs, which normally would be under the top 10, it's "Luv 4 Tha Game" by Still Scandalous Posse who are from the south, but this track is westcoast sound. It just wanted to mention it. So judge yourself...

Make a new thread for it homie.
-
I was the one that upped all of the tracks and I will be happy to do so again. Check the spot and they'll be up.
-
All I did was took everyone's votes and tallied them up. It took 10+ hours to compile and to rank the way that I did.
If I was to make my own list, it would be a whole lot different from that 100...there were actually 2-3 songs that I hadn't heard before. As I said in the thread...the top 25 is solid as hell, but after that, the list is a bit scattered and all else. I posted this list on West Coast Rydaz, and after 10-12 posts, EVERYONE who came in there was bashing the list, saying how terrible it was...but whenever people say "I would add this song over this one" it really just shows that everyone's opinions are COMPLETELY different....so even if you hate a song, it won't matter if most other fans seem to like it and vote for it.
I made my list based on what songs had most impact, what is most recognizable by all rap fans and even fans outside of rap, songs that have been sampled and imitated the most, songs that still get played, etc. etc. However, many people just lists based on what songs they like the most, even though many of them are virtually unknown to the average rap fan.
I have considered revising the list and making what I would think is a more accurate list, based on the criteria I just listed, and not just on my personal tastes...but I am 101% sure that I would still receive some backlash and people saying I am biased toward certain artists or even towards L.A., since there are many songs in the Bay that I am not as familiar with, or that I didn't feel were as classic as some people may think.
