Title: This new Evidence album is pretty f**king great
Post by: Lord Funk on March 16, 2007, 02:53:31 PM
Just listening to it for the second time and I'm really, really impressed. The guy has this great swagger about him - the whole CD has a real ballsy attitude that so much hip-hop is missing. Only complaint is that Ev didn't do more of the production himself. Plus that track about his mum is as real as it gets.

I'd recommend picking this up - I'll definitely shell out for an official copy next week.

On a side note, here are two tracks that people might not have heard of that I think are ansolutely banging - they're both produced by and featuring Evidence from the last Swollen Members album. If you only downlaod one, make it 'Darkcloudz', which is fucking amazing - clever Nas sample in the hook, too.

Yup like I said don't sleep on this album, because it's the best release this year so far.

Props for the swollen tracks.

Downloaded this album yesterday, listened to it today for the first time and I have to admit: it's been a while since I heard a hip-hop album this good. Quality beats, nice rhyming, no gangsta-posing-type-of-stuff (then again, it's Evidence, so it's only normal).

The last hip-hop album/mixtape I bought was Omar Cruz' The Cruzifixion, but The Weatherman is definitely worth my money as well. Thanks for making this thread Lord Funk. If it wasn't for these reviews, I don't think I would've bothered checking out the album...*props!
