Title: Samples on Shock Value?
Post by: Rud on March 25, 2007, 04:38:06 AM: have any been released yet? been listening to Oh Timbaland and its bugging the hell out of me, those keys are identical to a track on an advert on UK tv at the moment...wanna know if they are a sample/interpolation or if timbo can expect a lawsuit!

anyone else recognise the keys or know of any samples used yet?

yea, Kanye used a sample on Get By. i think he flipped the same sample differently on Used To Love You by John Legend aswell.

Get By uses a sample from Nina Simone. I downloaded that track a few years ago and if I remember right, I did not hear that melody. I think my memory serves me right because TQ used the melody for his track called Listen.

What does it say? He samples Mr. Kweli! So I think Oh Timbaland samples Talib Kweli as well :)

Kanye chopped the keys from the nina simone song to make the melody for talib kweli's Get By. Used To Love You does not use the same sample however both tracks use the same drums which are Doggone by Love

i guess that was for a Renault car with a UK vs France concept.
