peep this quote on snap music from DJ Quik:
"Snap music ain't nothing but 808's and shit. It's just that they use the snap instead of the clap because they ran out of innovative sounds." - and NAS gets it worse...peep the interview:

Quik goes hard at Nas? Where did you get that from? The only thing he said about Nas was this:

^^^^That's not "going hard on someone". Quik simply said that he didn't agree with the title Nas came up with...that's all.
There's really no need to hype things up. Before you know it, you got people spreading rumors over the Internet: "Quik & Nas beefing! IT'S ON NOW!! East vs West once again!!".

the interviewer also attributes some quotes to AMG that are actually Quik's and vice versa
on a side note, it got my hopes up again when he said they didnt have any features at the moment and that they really didnt need them

Sorry to say this tdotking, but hhnlive ISN'T DubCnn and could never be. Step your game up dude.
Plus, he's not really even criticising snap music. The point he's making is that it isn't a movement or even really a style of music - it's just one sound (literally 'the snap') that has led to that term. He's not explicitly dissing that sound, he's just making the point that too many people have used that specific sound as a snare hit.
This whole interview has been mis-marketed :-\

lol funny thing is, I think Nas does sufficiently elaborate on his point in the record. He does leave his ultimate conclusion somewhat vague and ambiguous but to an intentional extent. Furthermore, I see what Quik is saying and it's cool that he stated it in the way that it did. I think that's exactly the kind of conversation Nas wants to stimulate (what quik said, not the thread title)
