James eyes new clean sheet record
Portsmouth goalkeeper David James will set a new Premiership clean sheet record if he can stop Fulham scoring at Craven Cottage on Saturday.
The 36-year-old equalled David Seaman's mark of 141 shutouts in the goalless draw at Reading two weeks ago.
The former England keeper said: "Of course I am aware of the record and I would be very happy to break it."
James's tally includes Premiership appearances for Liverpool, Aston Villa, West Ham and Manchester City as well.
He added: "I just love keeping clean sheets and take it personally when we don't - even though it is often down to the rest of the team when we get one."
James will be 37 in August, but manager Harry Redknapp believes he has a long time left in the game to move well clear of Seaman's record.
He said: "David will play at the top right up until the age of 41 - at least. Hopefully it will be with us.
"In my eyes, he is still the best English keeper around. His fitness levels are fantastic and he still has so much enthusiasm for the game."

He would have a lot more clean sheets if he didnt make so many stupid mistakes.
He probably is the best all round english goal keeper but you just cant trust him to not drop the ball at the strikers feet.

I hope he doesn't make it
