LeBron steps up sneaker war
LeBron James had a few nice things to say Wednesday night about the $14.98 sneakers Stephon Marbury endorses. In stark contrast to James' $150 Nikes, the Starbury line has been praised for taking a stance against outrageously priced shoes that most kids can't afford.
But when asked if he could envision endorsing sneakers that retail for one-tenth the price of most Nikes, James managed to take a shot at Marbury. "No, I don't think so," James said before the Cavaliers played the Knicks. "Me being with Nike, we hold our standards high."
Ouch.
Marbury typically doesn't speak with reporters before games, but not for the typical reasons, like ticket distribution, cell phone conversations, and other common diva rituals. He actually has a regimented and fairly arduous pregame preparation routine, for which he was lacing up his Starburys when he was informed of James' comment.
Marbury shook his head for a moment while contemplating whether to comment, then shot back, "I'd rather own than be owned."
i dunno wut lebron was thinkin wen he said that, im hopin something just got misinterpreted because there is no way he could've possibly expected to look classy after sayin that.

both of their shoes are ugly as fuck

ya youre right, both of those shoes are ugly as fuck so I guess Ida rather pay 15 bucks for some ugly Starburys than pay 150 for some ugly LeBrons

I agree...LeBron has no class.

That was a low blow for Lebron....I bet he couldn't afford $150 for shoes when he was younger. And he doesn't design anything Nike does, and is nothing but a face for the company...so saying "we" is ignorant.
-
But honestly do people really buy starbury shoes besides Marbury?

I'm pretty sure by the time the scouts found him in high school he could afford it.
