Title: Worst Dre production of recent times...
Post by: The Predator on April 04, 2007, 08:38:26 AM
Dr Dre the legendary westcoast producer has been making rather boring beats for a while now.

Which one do you think is his worst effort since his loss of form?

Probably Put Your Cups Up, but that shit didn't come out in CDQ, so I can't really judge

Same here. I find all this Dre fell off talk funny as fuck. The man has produced thousands of beats. Artists also pick these beats out so apparently they like them so some of the decision falls on the artists also. And if they are satisfied with it, cool. But I don't think he has fell off though. Next people are going to say D.O.C. is wack.

It's a rare occasion when I DON'T skip over the Dre track on any given album. His beats are a commodity, indistinguishable and valued only for their perceived worth in the market and nothing more. No one buys a Dre produced track because it's actually better than any other track, they buy it because it's a "Dre produced track." Case in point is hustlers, all those tracks on Jay-Z's album etc.

You’re kidding yourself if you actually think Jay and Nas turned away all those other potential tracks because the Dre ones were “just better.” It’s become a standard in hip-hop that if you are a “heavy weight” you have to have Dre tracks on your album. How good they sound is of no real importance in the decision.

Man, producers are like rappers. There are certain beats you will like and some you won't like. No different then Timbo, Scott Storch or anyone else. Dre been doing it for 20 years. West coast fans are never satisfied.

I don't think any of these beats are bad, his best beat of recent years was the Outta Control Remix a few years ago since then I haven't been feeling his beats but I wouldn't say they're wack

What about that Melloe Won track or something, it was like a 2 second loop. Detox is going to be the decider to see if Dre still has it.

I know you felt cool when you wrote that, huh???It's all just opinions & I feel like Dre fell off big time cause other than the beats he did on the Busta Rhymes album his shit is straight wack.A few decent beats here & there & that's it.

nah d-nice ain't like that. but i see what you're saying.

i think people expect a certain KIND of beat with Dre so regardless of quality...if it's not the kind of dre beat they want, they hate. but that's just me.

I don't know, I just find his recent stuff very dissapointing.Especially the beats he produced for Snoop.Boss Life is cool but got boring pretty quick.Round Here doesn't fit Snoop, 50 would sound cool on that & Imagine, well, I admit I expected a classic.Maybe that's why I'm not really feeling that song, I mean after some time it kinda grew on me but still it's a huge dissapointment.Like I said before it's all just opinions but I feel like anyone who denies Dre has gotten worse is just forcing himself to believe in that.

You are on the boards, it's like peeps ain't never satisfied. I tell it like I see it. If a Dre beat is boring or so so to me I say it. One week Dre is wack, the next he is the greatest producer of all time on this board. I personally like almost all of those beats on that list.
