Title: Sevilla - Spurs
Post by: On The Edge of Insanity on April 05, 2007, 12:09:40 PM
Absolutely shocking decision, this referee should be banned for that, Robinson so clearly got the ball, not even any doubt in it at all. He's playing to the home crowd at the moment, so not looking too good for us however well we play.

1-1 at the moment.

Would you have settled for 2-1 before kick-off?

Personally I think you will do them at WHL.

Yeah, I probably would have taken 2-1 before the game, but having been in control until that disgraceful penalty decision, I feel we could have easily come away with a draw or better.

As long as King is back for the game at the Lane then I am confident we can turn the tie around, mainly because it will allow Chimbonda to play right back and give some support to Lennon, which Staltieri failed to do for much of the game last night. We definitely have enough quality up front to score at least once, so we've got a good chance of doing it.

shocking decision, the ref said that robinson did get the ball but the penalty was given because after he got the ball he slid into the player. That will happen everytime a keeper slides out to get the ball !!

that penalty was a joke, was gobsmacked when it was awarded, but i gotta say i wernt suprised being a spurs fan im use to gettin fucked over like this aint first time has happened this season, remember them two pens we had given against us when we played arsenal away around november/december time.. they were a disgrace aswell.

I feeling confident for tonight, looks like King is going to start, so we will be much better off defensively. As long as the referee isn't a complete idiot this time then I think we can win this.

debating whether to watch this tonight or not, it would be harsh for spurs if kanoute scored the winner at the lane.

Spurs need take there chances, it should be a good game even with ITV's terrible commentary.

At least they seem to have stopped doing that table on the pitch rubbish at half time, that was just embarassing.

Gave ourselves too much to do because of the terrible first ten minutes, put up a good effort in the second half though and had the chances to maybe get the four goals.

Shocking referee again though, clearly a penalty when Zokora was hauled down in the box by Navarro and he could have gone for hitting Berbatov in the face from a free kick. All the 50-50s went Sevillla's way again and loads of our players got booked without theirs getting booked for similar challenges.

Really a case of what might have been this year, but I think with an improved team next season (sort out the left hand side and get rid of Jenas, he's useless!), we've got a really good chance of winning the competition and I look forward to going to some European nights at the Lane next season.

true though they seem to have replaced it with interviewing a member of staff while the game is going on, no idea why.

Its only gonna get worse now they have the england games and the fa cup.

another season gone without any silverware  :-\ :'(.. but end of the day in my opinion, we've done well in the competition for our first outing init for years, just shame as usual we've been punished for making simple mistakes, while at the other end we dont punish sides enough when given chances.

They've been doing that with Clive Allen in all of our UEFA Cup games, it is a bit random I must say.

Possibly, I think it's ITV just trying to add some 'interactive' element to their coverage to try and make you feel you are there.

Their F1 coverage has reverted to this as well, with Steve Ryder and Mark Blundell presenting from the pitlane. How they failed to realise that with engines firing up, cars pulling out of the garages, etc, they wouldn't be able to hear each other half the time I don't know. They still seem to be persisting with it though, despite the stupidity of the idea.
