Title: What will Dre do after Detox

In about 4-5 years when Detox drops,  what will Dre do afterwards,  Mellowman said this will proberly be Dre's last solo effort :'(,  but after that will dre produce still be producing shit an makin guest appearences or will he stop all 2gether an just be behind tha scenes.

First off, today Dre stated that "Detox" was droppin next summer!!!! (Even though I bet my life it will get pushed)

Second, I think after "Detox" he will stop making Solo albums, BUUUUT he will start working on other Talents from Aftermath (Rakim, Hittman, Truth Hurts, etc and new talents that will join) , and start Producin full albums (Like in the Early Death Row Days)...I alos think he will produce a lot of other peoples albums that he is affiliated with (Snoop, Kurupt, etc)...


That's just my oppinion, but I think "Detox" is his last for sure...

when artists say "this is going to be my last album " it's bullshit


master p. realeased 2 whole albums after his "supposed last album"

puffy also released 2 whole albums after his "supposed first but last cd"

look how many too short has put out since his retirement album

jay-z's been hinting on almost every album that he was going to quit

in rock music it's 500x worse with all the come backs and shit


dre's only 35 and will be making music til he's like 70 somthing Detox ain't his last solo joint even if he says it is

I think "Detox" could b his last SOLO project, I think he'll b concentrating more on the production side of things after "Detox", helping his artists blow up etc. I'd hopefully like to see a N.W.A reunion album b4 he quits rappin' & doing appearences altogether though.

Dre will sit back and just look over all the shit he's done...become more of a mogul type person.  He'll be someone like Jimmy Iovine, head of Interscope.  Livin larger and shit, watchin over his artists.  The music will be different.

"Detox" WILL be his last album...Jake, Dre isn't like those other artists you mentioned who make 1 CD a year. Dre takes 5 years to make an album, because he is a perfectionist...Too Short, Jay Z, Master P, and all them take 2 months to finish a CD, so they say they quit, but than they need money, so they make a few quick songs, and throw it onto an album...Dre is not like that...It WILL be his last...Or at least his last in 10 years...

NIK....dre said the chronic was going to be his first and only solo release when it was released

then dre started on the chornic II after he got out of jail and said "this is going to be my last solo joint, then i'm just going to concentrate more on our acts on Deathrow and bringing up more talent"


then dre left tha row and said he'd never record a solo album, then after Aftermath tanked all together said he was retired


then he eminem revitalized his enthusiasm and he recorded Chronic 2001 and dre said "i really have no desire to make another solo joint so this'll be my last and i'll just put my musical finger prints on everyone elses shit"

then chronic 2001 sold 7 million records and put dre back on top....so theres all this talk on Detox...


trust me wether it takes dre 5 more years or 7 years after Detox , Dre will have at least 3 or 4 more albums out after detox

i ain't dissing you NIK AT ALL...BUUUUUUUUT you only know 5% of what i know about music, TRUST ME i know musical patterns you don't know how many times i've heard stuff like "this is my last album" from people like dre

True, this happens all the time in music.  Once an artist makes a good chunk of change on whats supposed to be their "last album" they go back for mo!  Who doesn't wanna see a Dre album?
