^^^^^damn....for realz i thought you could just network your computer yourself!! that might even cost more monthly damn!! n e body know and easier way if possible????
-
over network, you can let one computer use the internet connection of the other while one is online. it doesnt cost more monthly. Are they already in a network?
-
yeah do the network thing, so both can be online same time, and have cable on them, then also u can play against each otha online lol

I recently hooked 2 comps up in a network
I'm on cable, so I now got both them on the same line for the same price. It works like this for me, but I got a router, and that's not very common.
Normally the router only has 1 cable OUT
The hub makes it more
Plug in the wall

I'm not too clued up on cable modems, but the following works for normal Modems and ADSL modems. If anyone knows better please shout..
First off connect the two PC's you can do this with two network cards and a 'crossover' cable which saves the need for a hub.
You should be able to use Windows ICS - Internet Connection Sharing. Right click you dial up icon, go to the sharing tab and turn it on, you may need to reboot both machines. I think this ability has been in all versions of Windows since 98 SE.

Hubs allow you to connect many machines together, all the cables go to the hub from the machines and it acts as a central connection point for them all, hubs come in various sizes for the amount of machines you have.
However for two machines you don't need a hub, you can use one if you want to, but it is not needed, a simple Crossover cable between the two will be just as good and save money.

^^^^^^^^with the crossover can i still have the internet???
