Hood Surgeon Signs With JT Bigga Figga & Snoop Dogg - April 8, 2007 By : Rud

It was a little over a year ago when we first introduced you to Curtis Young aka Hood Surgeon - the son of Dr. Dre. We revealed news on his debut mixtape with So Hood Records and provided an Event Gallery and Live Footage of him on stage. [see; The Legend Continues.. Dr. Dre's Son 'Hood Surgeon]. Since then he was been keeping relatively quiet recording new music and hustling. Today we can reveal that Hood Surgeon signed a label deal with Get Low Records late last year and has been working on his debut album "Son Of A Doctor" alongside JT Bigga Figga.
The announcement comes now as JT Bigga Figga and Snoop Dogg unveil Mandatory Business, a distribution network designed to provide young independent labels and artists a jump start to getting material released and in stores.
With production on "Son of A Doctor" well underway he is also finishing up a joint album with JT Bigga Figga entitled "Compton 2 Fillmoe." According to JT, "Hood Surgeon will prove to the world this year that he is to be watched for with production skills and microphone tactics that have the whole west coast buzzing about the son of Dr. Dre. With two projects set to drop on the same day Hood Surgeon will force the world to pay attention."
The album, which according to JT "is being released entirely independently with no help from his father Dr. Dre" but under the guidance of himself and Snoop Dogg, will be the first release distributed through the newly formed Mandatory Business imprint. Wonder what Dre thinks of this???...IMo i doubt he will complain..Snoop is big business in the Hip Hop industry right about now-Dude just seem to be gettinbg bigger and bigger!!

not excited about this at all, it seems to me that hood surgeon is getting help purely on the fact that he is dre's son. Similar to lil eazy, good luck to him though he cant help who his dad is.

if heīs gonna do his thing without Dreīs involvment he needs to take Dreīs dick outta his mouth to begin with. why are you calling your album that if you wanna do your own thing? why do advertise yourself as Dreīs son if you wanna prove to people that you can stand on your own(which he obviosuly canīt)? this guyīs an idiot and heīs only Dreīs biological son and thatīs it, itīs not like dude grew up with Dre or had any type of relationship what so ever with Dre. dudeīs a fucking clown for real.

whatever man, i'm down with snoop 100%. Dude is making some nice bussines moves out west, droppin independent albums, with videos attatched to them for the mainstream. All he's doin is gettin people paid man. All these albums he's puttin/gonna put out (dogg pound, bigg squeeze, w.union, warzone, hood surgeon, etc.) are all distributed through Koch right? ???

well... its all about promotion.. i think we can thank JT for that.... he's an expert on makin BIG money on cheap products... and im sure it will work out pretty fine for JT... he's gettin more attention than ever...

I don't care much for Hood Surgeon, but I do hope Snoop and JT can get things popping with that distribution company. I agree with what was said about JT knowing what he does and how he should do it...let's hope Snoop pays attention and learns a few things.
In the for me ideal scenario, Snoop and JT use this distribution mainly for helping out others to bring music out, without heavily putting their stamp on it. ( At least not on all of them, I'd understand albums by Warzone or Western Union are riddled by guestspots from Snoop's camp)
