Title: Xzibit on Detox
Post by: Meho on April 18, 2007, 02:31:55 AM
Full interview by Demelza Goudie

Having taken part in pretty much most entertainment opportunities from the Def Jam Icon video game, to pimping rides around the US, Xzibit leaves us with one bit of advice. “Look out for that Detox record that’s coming out,” he laughs.

So does that mean Xzibit will feature on Dr Dre’s highly anticipated album? “Well, just look out for it,” he teases.

Hopefully he's on it, I think most people expect him to be but it wouldn't be that surprising if he wasn't.

He definitely has some good songs, but he never matched speed of life and 40 days/nights in terms of album quality.

^^It depends on if you like the "backpacker" Xzibit, or the "gangsta" Xzibit. Restless was still probably his best album, although it had way too many guests, the production was the best on that. His best lyrics were on WOMD imo.

Can't it be both? "A little Jesus Christ mixed with some Leatherface."

How did he step up from 98-2002 when At the Speed of Life came out in 1996?
He was dope on Chronic 2001 though...

The new album sees a number of collaborations with some of hip hop’s rising artists, including Too $hort, Game and T-Pain.
