Title: Vince Carter & the Nets vs the Raptors
Post by: PLANT on April 19, 2007, 05:34:45 PM
This series is gona be fuckin insane.  Vince returning to Toronto for the playoffs, the crowd is going to be nuts, I cant wait to see this shit on Saturday....Game 1 @ the ACC will be off the hook.  Vince & NJ have been playing great tho lately, this wont be an easy series for Toronto.  I hope they can set the tone on saturday.  Who are you guys taking/.?

The Raptors are the better team no doubt, but we will pull this series out because Kidd, Carter, Jefferson, Collins all have playoff experience. I don't follow NCAA much, but I know Boone and Williams played together on UConn, they went pretty deep in the torunament. They all have big game experience. Bosh, Bargnani, Parker, Ford, Calderon don't have too much. Raptors did a great job this year, but the Nets will take it in 6-7 games.

The Nets have experience but the key is Bosh.. inside wise New Jersey is very weak and if Bosh takes over , I'd say Raptors in 6 or 7.. by the way are you gonna go to the home games Plant ?

^^^^ it has nothing to do with Kidd... Nets were average and inconsistent for most of the season...

Damn, a lot of "italians" in this. Andrea Bargani is italian, Rasho Nesterovic grew up as a player in Italy (he was still litterally a kid when he played in Bologna), Garbajosa played (very well) in Italy too (in Treviso), Maurizio Gherardini (the Raptors VP & Assistant GM) is 100% italian (he was in Treviso too, with Garbajosa and Bargnani).. oh, and Anthony Parker played in Italy too (in Rome). For the Nets i remember a player i really loved, Bostjan Nachbar. Another player who played in Treviso. He's finally starting to play like he should. I really dunno who to support. I'll stay neutral.

I haven't seen the Raptors play much, but I know New Yersey has a lot of weapons, and they are playing great right now.  So I'll pic the Nets to win.

People think the Raps have no experience but Parker is a vet, a Euro league champion. Calderon & Garbajosa are world champs right now, thats big experience playing against the wolds best players.  If Bosh plays well this series will go 6 games max, but Bosh, and Ford too need to play well for the Raps to win this series.

by the way are you gonna go to the home games Plant ?
I wish I could brother

^^LOL

Another great first round match-up...I definitely see this series going to 7 games, AT THE VERY LEAST 6. I'm gunna have to say I believe the Nets will pull it out, but this series is totally up for grabs.

The Raps didnt play well at all today.  It was an ungly game, they didnt look in sync at all through-out the game.  Better luck in game 2.

Raptors simply need the experience.

Huge win today ! Carter took the ball to the basket despite being booe'd almost the whole game. We lost a big lead, but still pulled through. Calderon looks like he's gonna b a problem too, I didn't know dude was nice like that.

carter was a non-factor. jersey had there big leads when carter was on the bench, and when he returned (and cont. to take dumb shots that weren't falling for him at all) was when we made our run

Raptors needs to make some adjustements.. Bosh has to stay out of foul trouble to play more and get his rhtym.. it will be a interesting series, I still think in 6 or 7 games

I'll admit he had trouble shooting FG's, but he took the ball to the front of the rim down the stretch and got to the line. Also hit Nachbar for that big 3. Like I said in the 1st post, this series will come down to NBA playoff experience.
