I saw a single for Eminem's "Just Don't Give A Fuck"/ Brain Damage" late 1998. I knew he was on Aftermath and had read about him, but this was the first time I got to hear him. I could tell he had talent, but I thought he'd have a hard time trying to sell music like that. I mean, what the fuck, I had never heard of a rapper making fun of himself, boosting a low-self-esteem, and threatening to kill himself, I'd never heard anything like it and didn't know what to think, so I just kept listening to the shit over and over.

i think my name is was the first time i heard eminem...or maybe any man....i remember being hyped cos he had skills and was capable of opening up a whole new audience to rap music...which he went on to do.

i first heard my name is and thought it was annoying but i still copped the cd and he became one of my fav rappers for awhile...that's when he was at his best, when he was doing all that underground shit...he comes correct now sometimes like on that new jayz joint or on stan or kim...i thought the d12 project was a mistake and shouldn't be repeated, peace.

Anyone who had followed Dre's carrear should have known Eminem would not be a one hit wonder. If Dre's executive producing an album you know the whole album will be bangin.

My name is was the first song I heard. My name is was okay but I bought his album anyway cause he was funny as hell and had dre backing him. When I heard the album I was surprised how much skills the em had.

I first heard about him when he appeared in The Source's unsigned hype, I kinda didn't really care for him much when I read bout him in The Source. When I first heard "My Name Is" I had no idea that was him, until I peep'd the vid ofcourse. I first heard it also on Westwood's show. I thought the song was pretty tight, thought he was really fresh especially lyrically.

i saw his video for my name is when it first premiered back in 98'...I was like whoa when i saw it...Then i saw dre and i was like thats tight he cool with dre..Than my homie brought the cd over the day it came out and i thought he was dope..

I saw the world premiere for "My Name Is" on MTV in like late '98 early '99. At first, I thought that song was rediculous. I then saw Dre and was buggin out. When I borrowed the CD from my friend I felt a lot of the songs, so I bought it in late Feb '99.

I meant as a solo artist on Aftermath, you have to be more than just a one hit wonder to work with Dre. He went through alot of mc's till he finally found one worth fuckin with, and that was Em, so I knew it would be ill before I even heard it.

My Name Is... didn't really pay much attention at the time, Guilty Conscience got me hooked - dope concept and video - altho its overplayed.
ohh plus it had Dre.. altho i didn't pay much attention when i knew who he was in the My Name Is vid.. but did when he had a bigger part in the guilty conscience one... go figure.

then in the night i wuz lisnin to the radio on my walkman(when iwuz sleepin) n this track called "slim shady" came on and i'm like "woha this shit is amazin imma d/l it tomm"

i remember seeing it on Yo MTV raps and thought it was some Beck, Limp Bizkit, Alternative rock kid who i'd never see again , i though it was an ok song, then every one at my school was singing it...i didn't really care for it but i thought it was ok...i saw he was on aftermath and i was like "oh boy dre's been slippin' now he's gonna sign a white boy and lose it all" i didn't bother buying the album, but then when guilty conscience came out i was like "hey this song is tight maybe dre kinda knows what he's doing, then role modle came out and i bought it the second i heard that...i was really impressed thought i was gonna waste my money but i was wrong

i 1st heard my name is,and then borrowed te slim shady lp from my friend,that cd was pretty cool,but i dont really like him now cuz all he does is talk bout fags,it sorta gets old after a while

I heard "My name Is" on the radio and saw the video...Also people from school sang it and shit, and the begining of the 2nd verse was stuck in my head...I kinda liked Commercial rap around the time it came out so I bought it and liked the album...

Since im from D-Town (like Em) i heard alotta of his older/underground shit waaaay before he hooked up wit' Dre...I didn't like My Name Is at all, and thats what i heard first, but he's doin' his thang and i like most of his shit...

first i heard was my name is n i thaught it was total pop bullshit n then i heard guilty conscionce n had similar thaughts but getting better but then my friend told me that the album was the tits so eventually i copped it n and i was like this is ok...after quite a few more listens i was like this shit is classic he just had 2 grow on me i pretty much all his shit n i seen him in concert plus i bootleg that infinite cd ;) sorry but he ain't releasin it n he has enuff $$$

My Name Is was the first,my name is got me into rap LOL,and i think ss lp is classic,that is lyrically one of the best albums ever and the production is no where near whack but it's not some of the greatest production either,except for role model anyway i can still stand my name is but i don't like it much anymore,i can't stand guilty conscience though...peace-Tanjint

I heard "My Name Is" on radio and to this day I cannot stand it (only DRE song I really dislike). Then I heard "Role Model" on Clue's show, before it was a single, and I knew the kid could spit fire. I copped the album coz of Dre though. And it's dope (certainly not classic) plus it showcased Em lyrical arsenal. But MMLP really impressed me. Lyrically, it's one of the dopest record ever... (fuck what ANYONE says...)
