Dre Is The MAINSTREAM Founder Of Gangsta Rap.  Somebody's Always Gotta Get The Credit For Everybody's Work, And that's Who Mainstream Gives It To.  Personally, I'd Say Ice T Is The Founder Of Gangsta Rap, But Whatevea Floats Your Boat.

Ice T is defo one of the pioneer's of "G" rap, but i'd also say that Dre has a BIG part, no doubt, along with tha brothers of N.W.A ofcourse  ;)

gangsta rap was probably started in garages in freestyle sessionz

toddy tee, mix master spade, mix master ken, dj var, tiger dee and lil dre
probally nobody knows them but they really started that gangsta shit between 80-85 they ruled gangsta rap on the streets then in 85-90 came rappers like Ice-t, NWA, kool G, Schooly D, Eazy-E... in 90-95 came DPG,  Snoop, xzibit.... in 95-till now you have got many weak rappers that are fuckin' up the gangsta rap culture

I reward Ice T, N.W.A, Schooly D (many peeps say that N.W.A jumped onto G rap bandwagon because of Schooly D) & Kool G Rap founders & pioneers as they were the peeps that brought it out into the public eye, Dre then went on to acheive success in the mainstream. It's easy 2 reward them as the founders as they r the ones that got it recognition but they must of gotten their influences from other places, like peeps that were doing it on the streets.
They deserve credit to me though.
