I'll post more of my thoughts later, the first thing I want to point out is Kurupt's lyric's on his album "Kuruption" were drastically worse than anything he ever did on Death Row. It's like Kurupt got so focused on business and signing rappers, and the image of being a label owner, that he forgot how to rap. Then his label went bankrupt and was dissolved, and suddenly he remembered how to rap again and his next album was respectable.
Kurupt's lyrics were aweful on his first solo album, totally unfocused.

Daz had alot of guests on his first album. Sounded more like a compilation. But lyrically I think he brought the heat on that album. I liked a good portion of Kuruption, even a couple cuts off the East disc but I would have to go with Daz.
-
Daz Solo is best !!
-
RRGB is way better then Kuruption. Dope Production and dope features makes this cd classic
-
Kurupt fan fro life. I've always been feelin Kuruption. Still think RRGB is str8 but Young Gotti got my vote.
-
i like Revenge, Retaliation & Get Back better too.
-
RR&GB is better than anything kurupt has done. Out of all albums from daz and kurupt including dpg albums it is the second best, only behind dogg food.
-
RR&GB- great album kuruption eghh not so much.
-
RRG&B was clearly a better album that Kuruption. BUT. . .I happen to think that Streets iz a Mutha is better than both.

Retaliation, Revenge & Get Back is a great album. Kuruption as a whole sucks.

everybody always talks about kurupt being a lyricist which i never really understood. he always seems to talk nonsense

I think his Death Row days he was untouchable. A lyricist in every sense of the word. Not so much now, but he is good for a real lyrical track here and there.
-
haven't heard all of daz's 1st album, but absolutely dreaded kuription.

^^maybe in comparison with spice 1 and mc breed, but to rappers of the non-gangsta variety he wasnt sayin too much
-
im a fan of kuruption but retaliation, revenge, and get back was off the hook with all of those features and slammin beats! too bad shit didn't sound mastered like tha doggfather though.

If you compare it that way, I would say for battle raps and gangsta rap, DR Kurupt is about as good as it gets. Now if we are comparing Kurupt to Nas or Biggie or someone like that the content is different. I always wondered if all those verses Kurupt was spitting back in the day were freestyles or not.

RRGB > KURUPTION but not by much
-
im a fan of kuruption but retaliation, revenge, and get back was off the hook with all of those features and slammin beats!
west coast classic , kuruption is :-\, some amazing songs like ask yourself a question and c walk but not a solid album as a whole

My 2 fav tracks off the album.
-
Both albums are dope but i gotta go with Kuruption
-
i dont see how people can go with kuruption, it has a weak east coast cd, half the west coast cd isnt as good as it could have been also
rr&gb has some unbeleivable tracks, in california, the title track, oh no, theres tracks with pac, too short, OG with snoop and nate, albums near flawless, oh well thts just my opinion

I remember people complaining about Kuruption when it came out that it did not have enough Daz production and hardly any DPGC appearances. Pretty much before this album Kurupt was all over Daz and Dre's beats so the hype for this album was crazy. But with all the new producers and him trying to cater to everyone, it sounded all over the place. RR&GB like you said near flawless. West coast to the fullest.

the beat on c-walk is :o :o :o
same story with ask yourself a question
only "classic" tracks to me on the album. Besides that, you can count the rest of the decent tracks on 1 hand

We Can Freak It was a nice club song, one of the best to hear in a club IMO. C-Walk is amazing. I liked Game on the eastcoast cd also and the We Can Freak It remix.
-
oh yeah and we can freak it, man im forgetting some smooth tracks
i also really enjoy cant let tht slide, roscoe is rapping on ther and hes llike 14 years old lol

I really could not get into Put That On Something but other than a couple of tracks the westcoast cd is cool. The bonus track with Gonzoe on it is dope too.
-
THEY BOTH WAS DOPE , KURUPT'S album was Dope on the Westcoast side but he fucked up on the eastcoast shit !!!!!!!
-
Daz solo was better cauz it was on Death Row !! initiated , OG etc...
But there re dope tracc on Kuruption! like c-walk we can freak it i luv the "i wanna..." tracc is too dope!!!
-
Even though I like Kurupt's discography a lot more than Daz's... I have to go with Daz on this one. The funny thing about RRGB is that you can listen to that once you listen to that album, you've heard every Daz album. I'm not talking about beats, but after that album he basically recycled everything over and over again. Think about how many Daz lines you can finish before he says them, LOL.

daz
-
Have not heard all of Kuruption, but Daz' first solo album was fire even though I cant stand the way he rapped on the album. It Might Sound Crazy is one of the dopest westcoast songs of all time and Initiated with 2Pac and the Outlaws was real dope too.
-
daz...the east coast disk fucked up the kurupt album
-
I actually like "Kuruption," but I had to go with "Revenge, Retaliation, and Get' Back."
I think it was a pretty cool concept for Kurupt to do an East Coast Disc and a West Coast Disc. I can't say I liked every song on both discs, but I liked some from each. The first track on the East Coast Disc ( I believe it's called, "It's a Set Up," ) is actually my favorite track off that disc, and I think one of the best on the album. When I first heard that track, I listened to it over and over. I still think that's one of Kurupt's most raw songs, even now. The West Coast Disc probably has more tracks that I like, but offhand I can't think of all of them. Right now, "We Can Feak It" and "Ask Yourself a Question" specifically, stand out.
But Daz's album, come on...It's got everything."Initiated" with Pac and the Outlawz....The track with Snoop and Nate..."It Might Sound Crazy" with Too Short..."Ultimate Come Up" with Bad Azz and MC Eiht (one of my personal favorites)...the track with WC...man, they're all great. "In California" was a great single too.
To be fair though, If I had to choose between "Revenge Retaliation, and Get Back" and "Streetz Iz A Mutha," I don't know which one I'd pick. To me, that's Kurupt's crowning achievement so far. At least, as a solo artist.
-
dont get me wrong i love the westcoast disk minus one track and i love like 4 tracks on the east disc......but i cant ignore the other average or wack songs
daz album is dope as hell and more consistent
-
Daz's album sounded more DR.
