Former Bad Boy recording artist Ma$e AKA Mason Betha is close to signing a new record deal with Steve Rifkind’s powerhouse SRC Records label. It had been previously reported that Ma$e was signing with 50 Cent’s G-Unit Records and even appeared on several G-Unit tracks including work on the "Get Rich or Die Tryin" soundtrack. It now appears that deal is off the table and Diddy is currently in negotiations with Rifkind to finalize a contract.
Rifkind told XXL magazine, "We are closing the Ma$e deal. His album is crazy. We are doing a production and distribution deal with him. We don’t have a date for the album yet, but it will be out by the end of the year. It’s all brand new material."
The SRC roster currently includes Akon, Wu-Tang Clan, Pharoahe Monch and David Banner.
Ma$e released two albums: 1997’s quadruple-platinum Harlem World, and 1999’s certified-gold Double Up prior to his retirement. The rapper released his gold-certified comeback album, Welcome Back, in 2004

What? Ma$e wasn't even signed with G-Unit, yet they promoted him and all? I don't see why Steve Rifkind would believe in Ma$e anyway...
-
Now thats a good place for Ma$e. Will he have impact? probably not but hes lucky Steve Rifkind cares about him.
