What's goin on everybody? i'll get to the news a little later but first please bear with me as i want to say a few things. obviously since the last time we talked a lot has happenned and a lot has changed. Not only in our individual lives, but in music and entertainment. like most people we were shocked and devastated by the terrorist attack in new york. it made us sad, it made us cry and it made us mad. on behalf of everyone here i want to say to the families and everyone else whose lives were destroyed and/or lost by this tragedy, that they are in our thoughts and prayers every single day. a incredible amount of respect and praise goes out to the police and firefighters who died in the attack giving up their lives to save others, and to the people who are digging through the carnage cleaning up rubble, bodies and body parts. I can't even imagine how tough and gruesome that is. i hope that this wakes people up to the word "hero". the real heroes are not entertainers or athletes, they are police, firefighters, volunteers and people like the ones who gave up their lives to stop the terrorists on that fourth plane from getting to washington and causing even more carnage and death. I urge everyone on this board - especially americans - to help out somehow. cause next time it may be your country, your state, your city, your neighborhood or your family that is affected by terrorism or disaster.
as you may have heard, Dr. Dre has donated a million dollars to the power of a dollar fundraising efforts. dre has been criticized in the past for not donating his money to charities, which is extremely unfair. people forget that millions of people in America and throughout the world give their time, money and energy to charities and causes anonomously or without fanfair. not everyone throws a press conference or calls the wire services and the newspapers to report every donation they make. a lot of people help out of the love in their hearts, not out of the selfish need for press or attention. for instance dre never told anybody how much he helped people like warren g, nate dogg and sam sneed. dre was a huge factor in getting warren back on his feet, he helped sam sneed with medical bills and he paid a large amount of nate doggs bail. and this time dre paid 1 million dollars out of his own pocketbook. most rich celebrities find gimmicks and other ways to help in times of need without affecting their bank account. and if they do pay out of their pockets it is a much smaller amount than what they are capable of giving. so please give dre a lot of respect for his incredible act of kindness. dre was devastated by what happened and wanted to help. i've done as much as i can money wise and i urge everyone on this board to help in any way they can, if at all possible. NOW, some news.
The Wash soundtrack is now slated for release on October 23. that should be the final date but you never know. work on the album is virtually done so it will be ready on whatever date interscope and lions gate decideds for it. Hard on the Boulevard should premeire on mtv's making the video on october 1 or 8th. as far as The Wash soundtrack, dre is proud of it and i think you will really enjoy it. its as good as i thought it was gonna be. dre is on fire right now hitting from all angles and on all cylinders. his newest productions have something for everyone. some old, some new, some surprises and some innovative creativity. so no matter which dre style you like you will all be happy. just dont take it so seriously and critique it too much. just buy it, bump it, enjoy it and take your mind off the real world for a minute. its dope music and just it enjoy it as that.
just glancing at some recent topics and i saw that the Bones soundtrack tracklisiting has been leaked. like i told you last time it is a blazin album. no dre production, but you got a lot of fred wreck, some mel man, battlecat and a few other major beatmakers. warren g's album should meet your expectations. i haven't heard it all but i like the direction its headed. and i really like nate's album so far. it is typical nate mixed with some retro 70's soul and funk. if you have the money, all 4 albums are worth buyin. so please support these if you can.
how will music, especially hip-hop, change from what happened last tuesday? for the better i hope. right now and in the foreseeable future the publics not gonna be in the mood for music that glorifies violence and negativity. they ain't gonna want to hear about bitches and bling bling. the artists who aren't smart enough to realize this are gonna have albums that are major flops. america music will never be the same. dre knows that, as does everyone else in the aftermath camp. obviously the music done before the attack is far too along to be affected much. but future recordings must take a more positive note. dre is not sure yet what changes he will make in song topics and lyrics, but it will happen. any changes will not be drastic or affect how dre produces records. but we have to rethink a little about what we talk about on records. obviously events that occur in the coming months and years will have a big influence on any changes that might occur.
well i gotta go. if someone's down, pick them up. if you have an opportunity to do something good for someone, do it. make a negative into a positive by treating everyone with a newfound respect and courtesy. and we'll keep putting out dope music, which isn't really that important, but hopefully will bring you some joy and happiness in this time of pain and uncertainty. peace.

Thanks Mellow, I'll be sure to pick up all of those albums the day they hit.

mellowman, one quick question? i've heard the new warren g track and was disappointed to have heard that his first single is the same beat as sticky fingaz used, besides the little tweaks and stuff. to me this is a huge let down because i want to hear new things and that just brought back some early 2001 ish. i also wanted to know when the wash soundtrack listing is going to be available to our knowledge, thanks, peace.

What about that "Dr Dre presents Aftermath part2" album ?
west coast 2k reported this , i ask that question cause i would like to hear a new Group Therapy song 8)
-
yeah is that a true rumor as well, mellow can you please elaborate for us, peace.

BC Sticky Never Released That Beat, Yall! So It's Still Unreleased Ish, Just Because You're In The Know And Have Heard Rare Crap, You Shouldn't Be Mad Warren Used It.
-
Also you mentioned Dre had no producrion on "Bones Sndtrk", to me that sounds crazy, because on the preview for Bone's they had a Snoop track playing in the backround, and the beat sounded EXACTLY like a Dre beat, in fact it sounded like a classic Dre beat...Either it's Dre on the production and your mistaking, or it's Fredwreck once again attempting to sound like Dre...
-
Much respect to the D-R-E for his generosity. Can't wait for those albums to drop. Peace.
-
fuck that, it's ok because it was unreleased bullshit...if ja rule released a track over the unreleased "until the end of time" beat, y'all would trip, don't front, peace.
-
Ha! How Much Shit Have YOu Heard That Was Unreleased? How About Xxxplosive? Should Dre Just Have Scrapped That Beat Because "Way I Be Pimpin" Didn't Happen? Hell No...
What About "Zoom", Where Dre Took A Snoop/dRe Track And Made It Dre/LL...
People Do That All The Time, Now Yall Gonna Trip Because You Illegally Downloaded The Song (Hey , I Did Too) Off The Net? Ha, Dre Could Care Less. You Wouldn't Have Even KNOWN It Was An Old Beat, Without Hearing The Bootleg, So What You Mad About?
-
Thanx for the news Mellow. thats nice to hear, and ima cop those albums fo sho.
-
imma too lazy to read all that

Either it's Dre on the production and your mistaking, or it's Fredwreck once again attempting to sound like Dre...

Trauma is a complete piece of shit, but hes right. The beat hasnt been released so why cant Dre use it on Warrens album if they both think its hot. Yall muphuckas complain too much.
-
okay so why would anyone hate on fred cause he's palestinian... that's dumb
-
I THINK It Was A Joke (But Not Sure), But You Know, Palestinian Fundamentalists Just Blew Up The WTC, So I Think That's What He Was Hinting At. I Thought It Was Funny, Actually.
-

What?! I love Fredwreck! He is in my list for top 5 West Coast Producers right now, but what pisses me off about him is that he is trying to sound too much like Dre. He's like the mini me of Dre. He changed his style completely just to sound like Dre. Even though his new style is dope as hell, it's not his style...What he needs to do is go back to his original style (Example: "Who Ride With Us" , "Represent That GC", "Gangsta Rap" etc)...So I'm not hating, I'm just pissed that he changed his style completely just to sound like Dre, even though he's still a dope ass producer...
