Imo one of the best groups ever. Vinnie Paz comes with that raw hardcore lyrics, flow and attitude and Stoupe produces tight beats with scratching and sampling. Jus Allah has just reunited with the group after he parted from JMT in 2000.
They've collabed with Kool G Rap, 7L & Esoteric, Sean Price, Ras Kass, Canibus, Killah Priest, Louis Logic, GZA, R.A. the Rugged Man and Tragedy Khadafi.
JMT's 6th album History of Violence is planned to be released this year.
Vinnie Paz is also a part of Army of the Pharaohs, who consists of 7L, Apathy, Celph Titled, Chief Kamachi, Crypt the Warchild (Outerspace), Des Devious, Esoteric, Faez One, King Syze, Planetary (Outerspace) and Reef the Lost Cauze. AOTP started out with Vinnie Paz, Chief Kamachi, Esoteric, Virtuoso and Bahamadia. They released The 5 Perfect Exertions EP before they went each to they own.

Okay, definitely they are one of the illest hip-hop groups burning up the underground. And they are what I feel hip-hop should be, they are trying to elevate the culture and be creative. Also, I think one of the group members is Muslim so that's an added plus for me.
The track they did about Vietnam was incredible! The track is so powerful. One rapper is for the war, the other is against it, and you feel like you are THERE when your listening to it!
But with all that said, they aren't even close to being my favorite group.. Vinnie Paz's voice is kind of annoying to me. They are dope though, I want to hear more of their stuff.
-
I think Vinnie's voice is cool as hell
I got most of the shit I listed, so just holla, and I'll up it at uknowwhere.
-
torture papers is a personal classic....
that Vietnam track was fuckin amazin...the beat was just :o :o
-
I've seen them live, and that really did change my opinion on them. They're really pathetic. Not like their music should be compared to Wu-Tang, ATCQ, De La, OutKast or anything, because that would be a joke. But wow, they really are terrible performers. I did enjoy The Torture Papers a great deal when it came out, even though Vinnie bores me and Esoteric is the worst sounding rapper in history.
-
Yes sir they are dope
-
^^ They make cool albums, let's leave it at that ;)
-
Legacy of Blood and Violent by Design are two of my favorite albums, psycho social blah blah is cool too. but i couldn't stand their latest album. its just more of the same shit.
-
AOTP isnt bad.
-
When does "A History Of Violence" come out? I'm a huge fan of their stuff!
-
They would be way better off if they got rid of Vinnie. He's terrible in every way.
-
they we're tight, and i mean WE'RE now vinnie paz cant rhyme that well, his shit n style is getting old/pun rip off....and Vinnie says some dumb shit about some dope artists...like Common, Lupe etc...callin em all faggots...they are just annoying now. Only good thing lately was Uncommon Valor:Vietnam Story...cuz that whole album was tight production, weak lyrics by vinnie.

This year, in the summer I think
-
they are dope yeah! I was gonna go to their show but it got cancelled.. too bad..
-
vinnie needs anger management.
-
Violent By Design is one of my favorite albums ever. Vinnie is dope with AOTP too.
-
Props on this thread on JMT, Stoupe is one of the best producers there is.
-

In case you 'missed' it, the tour was rescheduled. Just be glad you didn't go after all - nothing too bad about it except for saving yourself a wasted night.
-
the only album I don't really like is legacy of blood. Vinnie just sounds too angry on it and just yells and sounds annoying. Unlike LOB, all their other albums are awesome. Violent by Design is a classic underground album when Jus Allah was still with them (good thing). And Visions of Ghandi has some really dope beats on it, and an awesome album overall. Their most recent is pretty good too but I recommend VOG/VBD first. The newest one has some really dope songs on it too though like Uncommon Valor and Shadow Business in particular.
-
Also, I think one of the group members is Muslim so that's an added plus for me.

How can you say they are one of the illest around when it's obvious you haven't heard much of their material? Vinnie Paz says he's muslim in 90% of his fucking songs.
