Title: two points to make.....
Post by: cremedelaclem on September 19, 2001, 04:31:14 AM
alright...the first one is...i was just listening to 'put it on me' (off the net..i aint got training day yet) and i realised that that girl on the hook sounds EXACTLY like pink.....anyone agree?...and if you dont agree i suggest you check 'split personalities' by pink (my sister has the album before anyone clowns me) i swear those 2 women have exactly the same voice.

the second point is more hip hop than the last one...and less trivial.....im getting kinda pissed with ignorant so called hip hop heads who diss people for using sampling in songs.

DONT Y'ALL REALISE...sampling is an official part of what hip hop music originally was before pop got its filthy hands on it....im all for sampling, when a sample is used in a creative way it takes a new form and y'all gotta realise that if your hip hop fans....in hip hop production a sampler is as much of an instrument as a synth or a keyboard, and thats just the way it is AIIGHT!!!

peace.

The sampling things buggin i know.. its used as a diss.. but when someone does flip something the way they like the same people are like "he's paying homage to so and so..."

yeah true...its not like im sayin "its cool for producers to go out and just straight up jack a beat" but creative sampling is GOOD for hip hop.

Sampling is a HUGE part of Hip-Hop, it's usually done very well 2 but I don't appreciate it when artists sample on every other song, 4 example P.D or Will Smith, thats jus' straight up whack & non-creative in my eyes.

Sampling is a part of the game and is something that should be used by all producers. Puffy gave sampling a bad name by HIJACKING 70's and 80s hits and then you have people like mannie fresh and swizz beatz who think they are the shit cause they NEVER sample.

I thought the sampling on the blueprint was great but yet I hear someone say that jigga oversampled too much on this album. Dre created countless classic by sampling.
