Well I Got This From A Very "Legit" Source...One Of The Creators Of Y2HipHop.Com Said That He Heard Westwood, Who I Believe To Be A Radio Personality In England, Confirm That Next Month's The Source Magazine Will Give Jay-Z 5 Mics For His New Album The Blueprint!
What Are Yall Opinions On This?

5 mics should be reserved for classics like the chronic, doggystyle, all eyes on me, ready to die! the blueprint should be about a 4 like kurupt, and the eastsidaz, last meal ect.

My rating is 4.5 but I don't have any problems with Jigga getting 5 mics...They always ride his dick anyway at least this album deserves alot of the praise they're giving it...My problem with The Source is they gave Jadakiss 4 mics and Cormega 3.5...Cormega is right behind Jay for album of the year and Kiss album was very average...Like Warren G said in his liner notes Oh yeah Fuck the Source...

Its about time the Source gave another album 5 mics..and I think the new Jigga was a great choice. I enjoyed the new Jigga more than Aquemini (which I believe was the last album to get 5 mics. However Dre's 2001 really deserved 5 mics. Im glad the Source didnt sleep on the new Jigga though.

it's because of the few tracks see , the album only have 13 track so it's ezier to get a classic mark , with no skip , no featuring ruinning your album etc... :(

there are 13 tracks, and 2 bonus remixes after the last track...the cd is the shit, the only song i don't like is girls, girls, girls...but the remix is better, peace.

There is no way in hell the blueprint should get 5 mics. I would personally rate it a 4.25. It's good but not all that.

I just hear Jigga just shot a video last weekend 4 girls, girls, girls.......Dat song SUX.......IMO this album is 4.2, but if they give it 4.5 im cool wit it........BUT it defenitly doen't deserve a 5.........This aint no Reasonable Doubt..........

TRUE: I was just listening to Pete Rock and Marley Marl radio show in NY and they confirmed that Jigga got 5 mics from The Source upcoming issue. They even played 2 of his joints, discussed it on their chat room and gave him a round of applause (which is RARE for an underground radio show). Now that's gonna be one hell of a very disputed rating kinda like what Life After Death 5 mics was or even Illmatic (when it first came out and got 5 mics, cats said it was unfair and shit... Now we all agree it's classic...) Well, y'all can check my review of The Blueprint in the review section: I gave it 3.75/5 and after crazy spins this week end, I'd say it's a 4 mics album. Could be 4.5 minus two silly joints ("Girls, Girls, Girls" and "Jigga That Nigga") but that's about it. I still feel that Dynasty was a better album overall, if not for the compilation-like taste it left with so many guest appearances. I guess The Source really wanted to pay homage to Jigga's career and/or make for the 5 mics he didn't get for Reasonable Doubt. Still, The Blueprint is NOT a CLASSIC album. It's DOPE, it's excellent, but it ain't CLASSIC. It ain't gonna change shit in Hip Hop. If this is classic, then Straight Outta Compton, It Takes A Nation..., Chronic, Doggystyle, 36 Chambers, All Eyez On Me, Illmatic and 2001 (among others) should be a 6 mics albums. It's all good though... Big up to Jigga... He's holding shit down right now...

Blueprint is definatly worthy of 5 mics IMO. I personally give the album 4.75, but I can definatly see this getting 5 mics. This is Jigga's best album yet [yes, ladies and gentlemen, this cd is better than Reasonable Doubt].

YEA.....I AGREE...IT IS BETTER....THA THING IS THAT...I THINK JIGGA IMPROVES WIT EVERY ALBUM (YEA ITS LIKE A RULE...LOL)...AND IMO HE ALREADY HAD ALBUMS BETTER THAN "REASONABLE DOUBT.."...BUT NEVER MIND.....

BLuePrint is definately a 5 mic effort. The wordplay, lyrics, and delivery were all on point. All the other Hip-Hop websites I've gone to, underground and mainstream, are discussing the 5 mic rating. The general opinion is that they agree with it. This is coming from some websites that have members that totally hate the mainstream. If even the hard to please undergound is giving it up, you know you have something special on your hands. The Blueprint is going right up there with albums like Illmatic, The 7 Day Theory, and Ready To Die as the best albums in Hip-Hop history.
My rating: 5 mics. I'd give it 5.5 if I could. 8)

when did doggystyle drop? 93...94?... and i still bump it once a week in 2001...thats thats 6 or 7 years later....the blueprint is ill...better tha reasonable doubt...but i KNOW i wont be bumping it in 7 years every week...so it aint a 5 mic album imo.

Anyway, The Blueprint is a classic in my opinion, but I wouldnt put it up there with All Eyez On Me, E.1999 Eternal, Illmatic, The Chronic, 36 Chambers, Ready To Die, or ATLiens just yet. All of these albums I just named are arguably in the top 10 hip hop albums EVER made. Give Blueprint some time, and we'll see........
