Title: Would you consider the Golden State Warriors an ELITE team?
Post by: Now_Im_Not_Banned on May 03, 2007, 11:51:12 PM
Now that they are playing at this level and knocked out the best team in the league, would you say Golden State is amongst the elite? Or do you think they simply had Dallas' number? I honestly think it's a combination of their wonderful match-up advantages against the Mavs and their perfect timing to streak/get hot. I mean, they were pretty much the hottest team going into the playoffs. Don Nelson:Teacher vs. Avery Johnson:Student couldn't have hurt either...I'm actually hoping they take the title this year, especially because the rest of the NBA (minus the Spurs and MAYBE Bulls and Pistons) are not even real championship caliber teams IMO. Lets not forget Cali love...What do ya'll think?

well you got to figure that it's all contingency for now. i mean don't get me wrong i'm stoked that dallas is out and GS is still holding it down for cali , but it was all a good contingency for golden state. they matched up well against dallas , don nelson knew how to exploit his old team and he had all the right tools (jackson and davis  :o ) . i give them props but let's see what happens in the next round before we start having this debate. Utah is a very tough team to keep down and houston is starting to proove that they're elite as well, so let's see how golden state fairs next round.

Fuck no. They're just playing with a lot of confidence, energy, and passion. Plus they always give Dallas trouble.

If they'll reach the Western Conference Finals they could be considered amongst the elite teams.

Naw.. they just extremely hot (no homo) right now... they finished the regular season on a very good streak and play as GB said with confidence, energy... an ELITE team no but in the same category as Houston, Denver, Utah and us..

Nope. Not until they prove they could beat the other top teams in the NBA.

I'm not rooting for anyone to take it anymore, but if I had to choose one team that I rather see win, it would be them. I could care less either way though, as long as Suns don't win it.

What team out of the Rockets and Jazz do the Warriors have the best chance of beating.

They are putting it together at the right time. Elite would be someone who is CONSISTENTLY putting in work. The Denver Nuggets also beat a #1 seed a long time ago and they hardly made the playoffs after that until Carmelo was drafted.

nope.  because if you really think about it, they only made it out of the first round.  i think for them to be considered elite, they would have to atleast go to the West finals this year.

No they are not elite.  They had a perfect match up, they had the coach that knew the mavs strengths and weaknesses, they were hungrier, and they had the best home crowd in the NBA.  All of those things coming together perfectly is what annihilated the mavs.

I hope B.Dizzle is ready for the next series whoever they may be...
cause without him @ 100% it's light's out for the Warrior's.

But what a series they had Vs. Dallas, WOW!
The Laker's (Besides Kobe & O) should be forced to watch that teamwork & Intensity
shown by GS on Thurs, over the summer, Over & Over again until they learn something.

The Warriors will get exploited in the next round by Carlos Boozer, Diop and Dampier are no way near Boozer's abilities, Boozer will fuck up Biedrins hardcore, I see Utah winning the series because of the new tandem of Deron Williams and Boozer
