--The Low Profile was only WC & DJ Aladdin, correct?
--Tha Maad Circle's first album (Aint A Damn Thing Changed) was composed of members (minusing guests) WC, Coolio, Big G, DJ Crazy Toones, Sir Jinx?
--But there 2nd album (curb servin) was the same people, minus coolio?
--Also, from these 3 albums which songs were used as singles? Same question for Dub's solo "The Shadiest One"
thanks to whoever answers :)
-
MC Zero was breifly in Low Profile.
Yes.
WC & DJ Crazy Toones & Coolio (Coolio was only on 1 track).
dunno.
-
The single for Low Profile was "Pay YA Dues". For Maad Circle's 1st album, I'm not sure about the singles. Their 2nd album had "West Up" as a single with Mack 10 & Ice Cube. For Shadiest One, I remember "Jus Clownin" & "Cheddar" as singles.

MC Zero was briefly? Low Profile was a only a group for a brief period of time, which brings me to my next question, does MC Zero appear as a group member on Low Profile's only album "we're in this together"
Coolio was on 1 track on the 2nd LP. So for the 1st LP, the group was WC, Toones, Coolio, and the 2nd album was just WC & Toones? then who's the 3rd guy on the cover of curb servin?

yea I see 3 dudes on the front/back cover, and had no idea that was him :-\
he shouldn't of been on the cover, since he was on 1 track, but it's all good
-
lol its cool, ya i was dissapointed to see Coolio on 1 track for Curb Servin'
but i didnt mind Sir Jinx not on it, cause it gave DJ Crazy Toones more porudction oppurtunity's on it

-
^^ not sure i didnt hear enough from Ain't A Damn Thing Changed but i know Coolio wasnt on Curb Servin' much cause he was trying to establish himself as a solo artist at the time
thanx, i'd giv you some "karma" if i knew how to lol
-

"Low Profile was originally a trio of two aspiring rappers and a DJ coming out of L.A. The groups membership consisted of WC, DJ Aladin, and MC Zero, who went on to pursue a career in visual art"
i'm pretty sure MC Zero wasnt around for the album
lol i dunno, i always been meaning to d/load Ain't A Damn Thing Changed, i'm like so into Curb Servin' i feel i don't need it haha

No Problem, WC & The Maad Circle is my 2nd favorite rapper/group behind Kurupt so i know about them

WC is dope. Alot of classics in his catalog, to bad he's slept on.
lol, fuck that brings up another question. Maybe i'm on crack, but i'm pretty sure Dub ain't the only rapper on this album. I ain't just talkin about 1 song either, most that is. Then if it ain't aladin, who is it?

"In addition to the former Ice-T affiliate WC, the talented group also included DJ Crazy Toones, longtime Ice Cube producer Sir Jinx, and future chart-topping pop-rapper Coolio. Because the latter two(Coolio & Sir Jinx) were so occupied with their own respective solo careers, the Maad Circle dissolved"
some more Maad Circle info

Not on Curb Servin. I have not heard their 1st one in years, but I don't think so.

I thought J-Dee from Da Lench Mob was a part of the Maad Circle? I'm sure he was in the booklet and was on Ain't A Damn Thang Changed.

J-Dee dropped a verse in "You Don't Work, U Don't Eat." Ice Cube introduced him, but I think it just served as a plug for Da Lench Mob.

Nah J-Dee was never in Maad Circle. It has always been Dub, Coolio, Toones, and Big G. I compared Big G to the 2 guys in the Lost Boyz that never rapped. He is a part of the group, just not rapping. ;D

Sir Jinx to me was more of the in house producer, like Fred Wreck is to DPGC. He worked on Cube's stuff, WC's stuff and anything else the crew was putting together. Not like Toones who was more the official DJ for Maad Circle.

I threw Curb Servin in the ride tonight after I saw this thread and I went to the store real quick. Dman I have not heard this in a while. Dope as fuck. One of the more slept on records on the west.
-
Didn't read all replies. But I will sahy that Dub is THE REALEAST cat on the west, one of the very few that I check 4 these days. He knows how to spit, Crzy Toones knows how to make beats and the rest is gravy. Fuck the hype, yall motherfuckers open your ears and recodnize that dub, cube, and Crazy Toones are bringin the best shi out the west and it ain't even close. CT Experience is album of the year, I hope Dub & Cube put out WEST COAST albums that don't try and hop on all the wack trends, yall be yourself an eberything will take vare of itself. they create, everybody duplicate!!!!

I feel that. I plan on listenting to both Maad Circle albums today (been a while for myself as well). Last night I did the low profile album, and that 1 really is a CLASSIC.
-
I'm pretty sure (DJ) Chilly Chil is a Maad Circle member as well.Didn't really know a guy Big G was invovled tho
All in all, I can say without a doubt that "Ainn't A Damn Thang Changed" is a classic in my book 8)
-
I don't understand how "dress code" was a single for the ain't a damn thing changed album, because there's no song titled that on the cd, just a skit ???
***EDIT***
the dress code video is listed as "gettin looped" on the album
-
Listen to the album and the tracklist is;

The Break Up
Behind Closed Doors
Out on a Furlough
A Crazy Break
Caught n a Fad
Fuck My Daddy
Back on the Scene
Get up on That Funk
Dress Code
Smoker's La-La-Bye
You Don't Work, U Don't Eat
Grandma Locked Out
Ghettos Serenade
Back to the Underground
A Soldier's Story

-
smokers la la bye is the skit where the dude kills himself on the phone. la la bye, a slug, just two of many ways to go to sleep.

Yeah man, the tracklisting that I posted is not the one on the back of the album. That list is what you had/have, but if you listen to the album you can match the song titles with the hooks and correct it.
