What did you guys think of the album? I was going through my albums and decided to throw this in the ride. It was good, a bit of a different sound compared to his other albums but solid. 50 Ways, Put It On Me, Trouble and of course Quik's Groove 6 are all bangin cuts off this.

I love it. Like Quik said he went back to sampling James Brown wich made the drums real raw on this record I also like the people featured on this. I actually think it's better than Trauma, looking back now. Trouble is also a monster how did that not become a major hit? Probably politics.

Was a little disappointed by it.

Something was missing from that album. Not to say I could not enjoy it because I did, but it was not as melodic as his other albums. Sounded more stripped down.

And the album is Under Tha Influence. :P

True that.

Meh it was alright, fair fairs, at first i liked it because it was quite a change but now that i look over it there's no real tunez to keep me coming back to bump it again and all. Safe + Sound was the one for me.

don't know why people don't like this, it's one of my favorite Quik albums and there really isn't a pair of bad songs on it
Trouble, Come 2Nyte....etc there are ton of 5/5 tracks scattered throughout

I've always liked this album.

wasn't feelin it...the quality was weak aswell

yea the mastering wasn't that great, especially for a Quik record

What about 50 ways? That's one of the deepest tracks Quik ever did.

Yeah 50 Ways is dope as fuck. I remember he got a Hip Hop Quotable for that. When Quik gets in that storytelling mode you really feel the emotion when he raps. I had forgot he recorded this shortly after Mausberg was killed.

i like it, 50 Ways is one of my favorite tracks ever, its unique compared to his other work

It was done with analog tecnology and not digital technology. Quik said it himself in a interview that he wanted to experiement with analog systems. This is the reason the sound is not as crisp as other records.

way better than trauma
