J Wells & Kurupt Present - "Digital Smoke" (Review) - May 14, 2007 By : Conan Milne

Today we're back with another new review. This time we assess the impending J Wells release, in collaboration with Kurupt, "Digital Smoke." The new album, due June 5th, is the long awaited follow up to the underground classic "Digital Master" from the talented young producer. In this review we decide whether the pairing of J Wells and Kurupt is a success and why you should pick up the album next month.

"Digital Smoke" receives the Dub Quotable: "Digital Smoke is a great effort with some stellar production from Wells. His brooding, paranormal instrumentals pave the way for some fantastic moments, just as they have on previous releases like Digital Master" as well as earning an honorable Dub Rating.

One of my favorite projects of 07 so far... this really is a solid CD, anyone that isn't sure if they should get this PICK IT UP. Kurupt is back on this one and J Wells production is insane!  8)

this is one of the tightest west coast albums in years, have you even listened to it?

My thoughts exactly. That, and I'd like to offer the assurance that location is not a factor in how we rank new albums. If there was a West Coast bias albums by Soopa, DPG, and Tyrese would have got 4 Dubs instead of acts like Clipse.
