They were able to get the W even with the refs going out of their way to make up for loss of Stoudemire and Diaw. Worst officiating I've seen in a while.
-
All this conspiracy is a bunch of bullshit. THe officiating wasn't the reason the Spurs couldn't hit a basket in the first quarter, was it???
THe SPurs won the game, they STEPPED UP like they usually do, and won a game that 99% of peeps thought they would,
Congrats to the SPurs indeed, they played a great second half.

2007 NBA FINALS= boring
-
smh...suns aint boring

Like i said i prefeer the Spurs to the Suns because of their gameplay. I prefeer the inside-out, plus the hard (even dirty) defence, the offensive plays who're built around a dominant big man, a team with great role players who knows their role. The Spurs have all those things, so they're a "perfect" team for my standards. So that's why i'm supporting them in this battle. I respect them, and i'm happy they got the win.

I'd love this series going at Game 7.. Suns up by 2 with 10 seconds to play then Horry hitting a three at the buzzer .. that shit would be funny
-
smh...suns aint boring
r u putting them in the finals already or what?
either way if they're in the finals....look who they're going to play either the Pistons/Bulls/Nets/Cavs...... Yaaaaaaaaaaawn. that'll be boring as fuck
-
^^^^ Suns-Bulls could be entairtaining.. but that's ain't happening.. Spurs are a great team, playing solid B-Ball but yeah nothing to cheer about.. the most boring Finals of these latest years have involved the Spurs.. with Spurs-Nets hitting a new level of low ;D

Thats what im talking about baby

That's pretty messed up. How do you run into someone, then flop?

I actually have to agree with that. I'm still pulling for a miracle for Phoenix, but even though Detroit and SA wont be high scoring, they do play REAL basketball. Real fans will appreciate the series.

I don't know why people act like flopping just started in Phoenix. That has been going on for a while. Even some Lakers have done it before.

You're right. Derek Fisher & Rick Fox were known for flopping on the occasion. But the difference is, that wasn't their only form of defense. They played great man-on-man D, and if someone made enough contact with them, they would flop. But I don't EVER recall them running full speed into someone then falling back like they were shot with a cannon.

And the all time great Vlade Divac. You breathe on him wrong and he would fall to the ground. Now that I agree with. Raja Bell is resorting to flopping a little bit too much. Players used to do it back in the day to cut off driving lanes or to bait the referee into calling a foul if there was alot of contact. (example: Hinrich against Billups). But Bell many times is beat and to make up for it he is flopping. Marion and Thomas both play good D. Which for Bell I don't understand because he is a good defender.

Bell's gotta get his weight up a bit imo. When he's not shooting well, I feel he slacks on defense at the same time.

The flop I cannot stand is when a player is walking or running down the court, Another player just stops in front of them and flops. Eberto and Ginobli do that all the time.
-
^ the flopper that pisses me off the most is Anderson Varejao. There's just something about seeing a 6'11 man flopping that really irks me.

Phoenix is the only team that uses flopping as their primary defense.

San Antonio flops alot. I don't judge total defense by that. You have 1-3 players per team that would rather take a flop then play head up defense.
-
^^San Antonio can play REAL, shut-down defense.

I never said that they could not, neither did I say Phoenix does either. I am saying that some players will resort to flopping rather than play that extra minute or so of defense. Their center Eberto or whatever his name is flops all the time. It's no secret Phoenis is not a great defensive team, but they do have some guys that play good D.
-
Hell, even my team, Chicago. Hinrich was flopping like crazy on Billups and when he would not get the call, it took him out of the play. And he is a good defender. I don't like it, but if you can draw a foul out of it, fine. Just don't do it to the point the refs don't buy it anymore or it keeps putting your team at a disadvantage like Phoenix does.
-
Phoenix have a couple players that can play individual defense...They are terrible at TEAM DEFENSE.

Yep.
-
Bruce Bowen be killing me though when I watch him. Can he make a shot from anywhere other than the corners or the sides of the court. And at least 2-5 times a game he will have a uncontested shot. And it's like Phoenix can't find him. He ain't going no where else to shoot it. ;D Same with Finley. Spurs just run they offense and have Parker dribble penetrate and dish to those 2 when the D collapses.
-
^ thats cuz teams look at Bowen as only a defender. As soon as they leave him open, Ginobli or Parker will find him, and its string music everytime ;D
-
Congratulations to Robert Horry for cheap shotting Nash which started an altercation that caused the suspension of two of The Suns key role players
-
I say they get to the finals in 5 games over Utah. Golden State chocked and Utah in my opinion is highly overrated. They excelled over us because of our poor free-throw shooting and our horrible rebounding. We also have to remember they shot like 10000 free throws a game. The only thing they have going for them is their power and they won't be able harm San Antonio that much.

They weren't going to beat the Spurs anyway. I'm telling you, no Steve Nash led team will ever beat a team with a good pg. Against the Lakers all Nash had to do was run the offense, but he could coast on the defensive end because Farmar and Parker aren't going to do much. Check out how he does against Tony Parker, Allen Iverson, Chauncey Billups, or Jason Kidd.

Don't think an Iverson team will ever win the title either.
Hypothetical question: If you put Nash in Parker's place, would the Spurs still win the championship this year?

I hate the Spurs. Spurs/Jazz is gonna be the gayest Western Conference Finals in recent memory, period.

Jazz match up well with the Spurs...
PG Deron Williams vs. Tony Parker
SG Derek Fisher vs. Michael Finley
SF Andrei Kirilenko vs. Bruce Bowen
PF Carlos Boozer vs. Tim Duncan
C Mehmet Okur vs Francisco Oberto
...and the bench:
Manu Ginobli
Robert Horry
Brent Barry
Francisco Elson
vs.
Matt Harpring
Paul Milsap
Gordan Giricek
Rafael Araujo
The bench is the difference, I guess. But Utah has a much better chance at knocking off the Spurs than Phoenix did.
-
On paper the difference is far from as huge as in execution.. I'm not bothering to go into detail, but there are no hopes for the Jazz to win this series. I mean, the Spurs are together for so many years, they saw everything. Boozer just really came back from injury this season, as did AK-47.. and their Starting PG is in his 2nd season :-X
-
I don't care, it's gunna be great basketball. I wouldn't underestimate Jerry Sloan.
