I really wish this were an April Fool's Joke, but I caught this on Benzino's myspace:

It’s been more than two years since the world has heard new music from one of Hip Hop’s most colorful and intriguing icon, Ray Benzino. He returns this summer with The Antidote, a 19-track album plus bonus DVD that industry insiders are comparing to The Chronic, because of its near-flawless musical production, the way Benzino has stepped up his lyrical flow to new levels, and the stand-out feature performances from Benzino’s new gang of young wolves, collectively known as The 1st 48. “I believe that this is album is just as good if not better than any of the most anticipated albums of the year,” says Benzino. Benzino’s The Antidote will hit stores June 26.

"that industry insiders are comparing it to The Chronic and saying how the best song on here isn't 10% as good as the worst song on the Chronic sounds to a rap hater"

I have to admit that I have enjoyed an occasional Benzino (or Made Men) track, but hell would freeze over if Benzino could ever make anything as musically or influentially as groundbreaking as the Chronic. He should stick to production of the Source.

maybe you guys overlooked the part that said 'production wise' benzino ALWAYS has good production whether it be from himself and his group (hangmen 3) or outside producers.
he also produced that intro for stillmatic. check the hangmen 3 credits out.
