There was a thread a while back about this and i told everyone it would suck cause of what was in it.. Im happy to say they trashed everything i stated! No more talking or calling laurie BOO! i do hate the remake idea but the shooting script was very good.. Also robert signed on to do 3 more halloweens so the sky is the limit there. I feel you all will be suprised

He's obviously doing it to bring it to a new audience, I can understand why they're remaking it.  To do a sequel, the story is already so fleshed out and removed from the original idea that it'd be hard to do something that would be relevant to a 18 year old audience, which is exactly who this movie (and many of Zombies Movies) is made for.  He makes movies to scare chicks into their boyfriends popcorn.  If he remakes the original, though, with slight differences in his own way, then he's got something current.  The movie and plot have already proven to be one of the best horror ideas ever, so it's gonna do really really well in the theatres and I can see why he chose to start over instead of another stupid sequel handcuffed by it's predecessors.

i found this shit on another forum...this is the workprint for Holloween 9...supposedly this was shown back in june, then they re-shot some of the shit, and added more deaths in the final cut....this shit should be sick as fuck...im bout to watch it now...

Not bad...I mean, sort of a let down, considering it didn't really stay true to the "Halloween" franchise, but as a stand-alone film, it's pretty good. I just wish they woulda' went in a different direction with the franchise, cuz this remake/prequel kinda defeats the whole purpose of the original story. Recommended to any horror fan...PeACe

Pretty gory, though it seemed heavily edited at the same time. Wont be surprised at all to see an "Unrated Direcotrs Cut" when it's DVD time.

I liked it, I thought they did a good job with it.  It wasn't perfect, but I think Rob Zombie makes perfect horror movies.  Very well done and keeping with his way of doing things.  You can tell he really cares about the franchise.  They changed some things around which was pretty ballsy, and some things didn't make sense, but all in all it was pretty good.

1.  When the killings happened, the news reporter outside knew exactly how many times the sister had been stabbed, etc.  This was unrealistic.... it'd take an autopsy to get that info. 

2.  Michael stole his mom's huge tombstone... but she was a single mom with no money, she wouldn't have had a huge grave marker like that.

3.  When Michaels' mom killed herself, she left the baby behind which the cop scooped up, ommitted from the report, and drove the girl to another town... however this was only 2 years after Ms. Myers had came home to find Michael and the baby the only survivors, and there was a huge trial... everybody in town would have known that she killed herself, and everybody in town would have wondered where the baby was. 

Things like that are kind of sloppy writing, but again it's a horror film so you have to totally suspend reality to get into the movie.  I think Rob should keep directing, he does great stuff.

Overall I thought this movie was horribly done. The only good things I can really say about it are the mask was great and it was better than resurrection.

You think that's bad? EVERY single time I go into a horror movie, there's some Mexican parents with an infant in there. It happened in this movie too...Sometimes, the infant will cry throughout the movie or during the horror scenes...Shit is annoying and pathetic.

Well, dude pretty much single-handedly ended the franchise on this note...If there's any remake to complain about, this is the one.
