Title: When will artists learn ?
Post by: Meho on May 25, 2007, 04:30:03 PM
That having one producer doing the whole = great album.

Im bumping R.Kellys new album for the past few days, its great and guess what Kells did all the tracks. Same goes for Clipse latest album, both Akon alubms, Commnons Be and I bet his new one is gonna be crazy too, since Kanye is doing like 8 tracks out of 12.

Yeah an album turns out way better with one producer doing the majority of the album. R Kellys album is better than i expected it to be.

True...... being that the producer DOES control the mood and or direction of emotion of the album...... too many people = too many directions = confused listener...

maybe a reason why artists have so many different producers on thier album is because they think if they have a different sounding sound throught the whole album, they will track more a wider of an audince?

nevertheless Timbo, having one producer does keep the album more consistant.  i agree with you.   8)

even worse, NO direction, unchallenged/unfulfilled listener.

It started with Pac and Biggie with all the producers. Their double cds is what started it.

^True. But both their albums worked well with a lot of different producers. I can't imagine a double CD with just one producer.

I guess it all depends. Some producers are well capable of putting together a really solid album for a rapper to lace. It's more of a style issue, why we all love to see albums done by just Nas/Premier, Common/Kanye, etc. because these producers really know how to melt together a satisfying album together with the artist. But as much as there's a guaranteed hit when producer so-and-so did the first single, most of the time it's exactly this type of producer who will not be able to glue together a solid album. Can you imagine enjoying an album entirely produced by Scott Storch or Denaun Porter?

besides Nas, I think Scarface would make a classic album with Premier. He ripped that Betrayal song on Moment of Truth.

Artists use it for star power. Back in the day, that would sell alot of people on your album if you had the whos who of producers on your list. Something else that has gone away is in house producers. The only ones I can think of is Rap-A-Lot, Bad Boy and a few others

dre very much desires to give his up n coming produders alot of shine + compound that with the fact that it would take him an ungodly amount of time on a whole LP + compound that with the fact that he would feel immense pressure for the whole record to be classic if he was credited to have produced it all= I hope dre at least does as much of detox as he did 2001.

anyway, yall never heard a double cd produced by the same cat? Ever listen to Zeppelin or the Beatles? that shit can be welllll done.

yea for real. Also I wonder why he stopped fucking with Sanchez Holmes. He made some of the greatest T.I. songs ever man. Black Mob is cool as well, they did alot of the P$C album, and the production on that album was nice 8)

Jazze Pha as well
