Time to give some of the other producers some shine. Past or present. Name your favorite track or whatever. My favorite right now is DJ Khalil. He has been at it for a minute, but his Aftermath beats are insane.

Hi-Tek
DAMN, I think I am going to have to change my mind now. ;D
Hi-Tek does have some sick tracks too. I was bangin Ryder Music earlier.
-
Focus
or hi-tek

Focus
He had some bangin beats on the last Outlawz album. I think he was co-executive producer on it. Dre has a nice stable of producers. I forgot about Bud'da too. His work on Bow Down was classic.

Definitely, don't know if he's still around now tho.

DJ Khalil. I like the tracks Dre has co-produced with Mark Batson too. He seems to add a little extra 'oomph' to Dre's beats when he's credited.
Who are the Aftermath production staff - besides the names above of course? Does Scott Storch count, for example?
For some reason, I don't count Hi Tek since he's been doing his thing for so long and has scored many notable tracks outside of the Aftermath camp. Suppose the same could be said about Storch.

Focus. DJ Khalil's dope as hell too.

Hi-Tek signed a production contract with Aftermath. So it is probably for so many tracks produced or something. It is more of a side deal for him but I would still count him as a contributor. Scott Storch was doing more of the instruments for Dre back in the day but once he started producing more I think he did his own thing. But he will do a track here and there with Dre.
-
I was going to say Focus, because he jumps out, but then again Hi-Tek is dope as well. Damn, Dre has a team of great producers with him.
-
Assuming Detox is coming out (very lil chances imo lol) Focus, Hi-Tek and DJ Khalil should (co) produce with Dre , M.Elizondo on the bass, Storch on the keys and you got a incredible banger.. no one , outside these, should be involved sound wise... Dre beats resulting of the work with the "new" musicians (Batson or others) are weak ...

i hear you but what about mel-man aint he back at aftermath now? he got to be one of the dopest?
-
I want Mel-Man back!!!
-
Mike Elizondo
forgot all about him
:o

Khalil's on aftermath?
-
Khalil's on aftermath?
I could be wrong but I thought he signed a production deal with Dre. Not full time, just contributing tracks on projects.

I know that is the kind of deal Hi-Tek has. He signed it shortly after he did track on Beg For Mercy.

past: mel-man

Before: Bud'da and Mel-Man
Now: Scott Storch and Focus

THE AFTERMATH PRODUCTIONS STAFF
Focus, DJ Hi-Tek, Mike Elizondo, Dawaun Parker, Che Vicious, Mark Batson.
That is the list on www.aftermathmusic.com

So my vote goes to Hi-Tek easily. 1 of the best around at the moment. His last album still sounds fresh.
-
im pretty sure JR Rotem is apart of aftermath as well.....hes pretty good...shit sounds like dre's....i think JR/Focus/Hi-Tek and DJ Khalil could co-produced some hot tracks with Dre
-
yea Jr Rotem is fire for sure
Forgot about Mr. Porter, he's also produced some BANGERS
-
Focus, Hi-Tek or DJ Khalil at the moment, they're all makin better beats than Dre.. its hard to choose outta those 3
-
Bud'da
-
Mel Man is the shit.
To be honest, I only like Aftermath's Mel Man era, not a big fan of anything thats been done after he left.
The beat for Shittin on The World is still one of the hardest Aftermath beats
-
khalil.......all the self scientific stuff currently is incredible, dont sleep......i like the reflection eternal hi tek much, much more......his new album was great, but i dont dig the current keyboard stuff as much (all his stuff on beautiful struggle for example was was very dissapointing IMO).....
-
hi tek and j.r

Mel-Man
^^ has to be Mel-Man. He had a great beat for his solo joint on Aftermath Presents.. and I think he did Eve of Destruction didn't he? Also, his work on the Marshall Mathers LP and the 2001 album co-producin for Dre is some of the best quality we've ever heard.....he had some good soundtrack cuts like I think he produced "Bad Guys Always Die" for Dre and Em on the Wild West Soundtrack... he also did two certified bangers for Xzibit "Year 2000" off a movie soundtrack and "Welcome To LA" he actually did all the way back in 98 for his 40 Dayz album.
