I'll start it off:
Jayo Felony - great rapper, but i recently checked out his 4 albums, and none of them where better then decent, or alright :-\
and no rappers who don't have albums (i'm sure someone'll say crooked I)
-
WTF are you smoking? Take a Ride is a GREAT album.
Tray Deee
Bad Azz

Tray Deee
Bad Azz
I only bump 5 songs off take a ride man
i've only heard 1st bad azz album (gotta do other 3 still) and word on tha streets was pretty good :-\
-
Take a Ride is a million times better than any bad azz album. You can bump take a ride all the way through, and these songs:
The Loc is on his own
Niggaz and bitches
Sherm Stick
Take a Ride
All amazing fucking songs, straight classics

I'd said Tray Dee!!!
Sum may disagree, but i think he is a dope lyricist.his rhyming and choice of words is cool, it's like he is conversating, but rhyming at the same time.
his solo tracks on "Snoop Present tha Eastsidaz" and "Deuce n trays" were both on point IMO!!
Shame he had to go to jail the way he did, he was on to sumthing!!
Bad Azz is Anutha rapper!
Although his Personal Business album was dope, a follow up is yet to happen,so thats why I've included him in there.
Jayo Felony is another dope rapper, that i want to see put out a Dope Album!!
Sylk-E fine is Anutha Dope rapper to me, her album "On the Cum" was o..but i felt she culda done alot more, the talent was certainly there!
Her verse on Bad Azz album was dope, can't recall the name of the track..
As for her album, the only track i loved was the one she featured Snoop Dogg & Bizzy Bone, track is alright, but Snoop & Bizzy killed tha track-even though Bizzy went off a tanget, but hey it's Bizzy..
I just came across this mixtape featuring Sylk-E fine, and a few other rappers, Westside Bugg, don't know how old this is?..i doubt it's new-then again i stand to be corrected.
Also came across this my space..Think the track "Senorita" is by Sylk E. Fine, doing the chorus, sounds like her voice-Beat is sooo dope!!!
http://www.myspace.com/westsidin
Check the tracks on this my space^ Kokane is dope on "Senorita" and also on "Henny & Hydro'
thats all i have...Right Now!
Props Lunatic 63-You always seem to come up with dope threads!!

Can't believe no one has said Crooked I or Sly Boogy, great rappers who have yet to make one album. well you could count Judgement Day as an album, but it was kind of a mixtape. I agree with Tray Deee too.

Blu
-
I would go with Jayo Felony too. I just love a few songs off Take A Ride, the rest is just ok. Whatcha Gonna Doo is just boring to me.
And I still wait for Lil E'z album...
-
Hmm... Kam? Don't really know if he's got a classic, maybe i need to be schooled on him. Knoc-turn'al? Hittman?
-
Shit can't happen now, but I see back in the day a lot of people fiending for a Sam Sneed album.Shit didn't go well for him tho.
Hittman should be added to this list as well.
SOme may no agree, but I think E-A-Ski should have had an album out. He's average at best on the mic, but his production back in the 90's and a lil' aftert that was GREAT.His EP from 92 is one of my favourite EP's ever, cause prodction on that is so crazy. But it's justn an ep, his Past And Present mixtape is solid, but it ain't an album
And props for a real nie thread Lunatic 8)
-
he has an album out on no limit
-
Hittman - his leaked album was quite good, but fell short of great
Sam Sneed - great rapper, someone leak his album!!!!
Crooked I - this topic was made for him
-
Crooked really needs to come out with an album...its getting ridiculous
-
tray deee no doubt

-
let me address some shit here:
i said no artists who have yet to make albums, and i even gave crooked i as an example lol, but ppl still mentioned him ;)
the point is to name GREAT artists who have made albums (perhaps i should of been more specific) but none of them have been great.
Slip Capone: Forgot about him, props blu for the mention, he's D-O-P-E (although i'm not sure if he's made an album)
Knoc-turn'al: The Way I Am was a pretty solid album IMO
-
ill throw Knocturnals name into the mixer for this subject..
whoaa, listen to the way i am
-
Hmm... Kam? Don't really know if he's got a classic, maybe i need to be schooled on him. Knoc-turn'al? Hittman?
Kam? are you kidding me? Made in America is a classic!
-
ill throw Knocturnals name into the mixer for this subject..
whoaa, listen to the way i am
i have it on cd.. just thought he could have done alot better with this effort.
-

Now we're talking about solo albums right?
-
Hittman - his leaked album was quite good, but fell short of great
Sam Sneed - great rapper, someone leak his album!!!!
Crooked I - this topic was made for him
These plus J.Flexx, he should release his Death Row album in the net or somethin'...

i won't we all have opinions. There are many on here who think Knoc is a GREAT rapper, and many on here that think he is a HORRIBLE rapper. Each to their own

Good example, because I hate suga free for the most part lol
his voice is amazing. Especially the 1 he uses on the hooks, soooo smooth lol. Honestly, dis-liking his voice is the only reason i could see why a person wouldn't like him. He's an amazing lyricist, and even better he writes his own shit, and writes other ppl's shit. His verse on Bang Bang was in my top 5 fav. verses off that entire 2001 album. Knoc brings heat with the lyrics man.
The Way I Am was a great album, all around. We didn't see the the full lyrical ability he had previously shown on that album though IMO. Just a perfect combo of great production, great guest choosing, and decent enough lyrics, and ofcourse at least near-perfect hooks on every song.

i can't stand suga free either actually. i respect him but his voice and flow really get on my nerves.
knoc on the other hand i like. way i am was a good album no doubt but judging by some of his other tracks and the production credits on way i am it should have been better.
-

i thought the lyrics also judging buy his other tracks could of been better. I personally LOVED the production for the most part.
Love La, The Way I Am, Watch Out, Love Slave, What We Do, Have Fun, Him Or Me all had bangin beats. And then War is great for the lyrics, peepin tom is the 1 song that really showcases knoc's talent (that was amazing), click-click grew on me, knoc spits fire on that 1 as well, i like was a cool track, change this game was a bit wierd, cool futuristic beat, and until the day was a nice meaningful track

i dont think thers a weak cut n the album, solid album with classic tracks, ie the ones u mentioned above
suga free on the other hand is 1 of my fav west coast artists, two classics imo

let me make it clear that i don't think any of the jay albums are technically bad, just coming from a dude who has LOVED all the guest apperances he's done (and i've heard a grip of them) I expected ALOT better from his albums. Hope that new album sees the light of day still 8)

LMAO! Dude, don't get me wrong, thats a pretty cool album, and most those songs are dope, but Personal Business don't even come close to Take a Ride, LOL. And you didn't even list the best song...You Don't Wanna Be Broke.
I think Bad Azz is dope as hell, but he has never come close to making songs up to par as these:
The loc is on his own
sherm stick
niggaz and bitches
take a ride
-
I personally think 'Life Ain't Ever What It Seems To Be' was not the best track on 'Personal Business', but certainly my favourite. That beat is amazing. Easily Jelly Roll's best.
I've heard two albums by Jayo Felony; 'Crip Hop' did not do anything special for me and 'Underground' is,to me, a dope album.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned Lady of Rage yet. If anyone's a great rapper without a great album out, she is.
I'm also surprised people actually like Sylk E. Fyne. I won't say she's a bad rapper per se but if you ask me, her voice, flow and subject matter are all off in her case.

This is an example of a dude who don't read topics but just post. Fuck you, the threadstarter said rappers who already have an album out, but not a classic/great one yet.
Get it?

I would have to say CPO. I bet some people would disagree with me here but to me, I didn't feel To Hell And Black all that much. I mean yeah it's a solid album, but just nothin too special and nothin about it sticks out to me. And when I hear CPO's verse on Picture Me Rollin' and his songs on the MWTC and Above The Rim soundtracks I realize how good he can be as a rapper. Wish he would've released something in the mid 90s, would've been tight.
-
Ya Boy
-
Nate Dogg's G Funk Classics Vol 1 & 2 is exactly that, g funk classic, especially Vol 1... smooth as fuck.

I totally agree with you... that album is like between to sounds, it doesn't have that classic old school sound, but it sure as hell doesn't have that funky shit that came a lil' late either. Plus, he sounds nothing like the CPO we all learned to love in the Death Row days.
Oh, and CPO's verse on Gangstanostra = one of the dopest verses ever!
-
Ya Boy
Ah come on man, you can't say Rookie Of The Year wasn't hot.

The most of the beats were quite boring.

Hmm i loved the bass in the Droop-E beats, and the second part of the cd is bangin' 8)
To me it's definately a 3,5/5
