Anyone know? A list of the top 5 or something would be appreciated.
-
I think it's "All Eyez On Me".
I know "Life After Death" went diamond.
-
"hammer dont hurt em" 10
"life after death" 10
"All eyez on me" 9.5
"2pac's greatest hits" 8.5
"Marshall Mathers LP" 8
"E.1999 eternal" 7.5
"2001" 7
ETC.
-
does 10 mean 10 times platinum?
-
Yeah, or diamond.
-
1. Please Hammer Don't Hurt Em 10.5 plat
2. Life After Death and All eyez on me 10 plat (all eyez on me has been certified 9 times plat since 1997 so i really doubt it's still at 9 times plat still)
4. Marshal Mathers LP, i think it's 9 times plat at the least 8.5
5. nelly country grammar-8 time plat
then the beatsie boys' licence to ill is at 7.6 mil
vanilla ice's to the extreme is at 7.5 mil
dre 2001 is certified 7 mil
snoop's doggystyle has sold 6.7 million copies
the chronic has sold 4 million for interscope and 3 million for priority so that's 7 million
then theres a GRIP of rappers in the 6-4 million mark
i checked e.1999 eternal in the 2000 world almanac and it's only 6.5 million

All Eyez and Life After Death are double albums so they only sold 5 million copies...5 million people have the album...The Fugees hold the record with 17 million but that's worldwide not just in the U.S....Hammer has sold over 10 million in the U.S. and over 15 million worldwide...Will Smith sold 9 million in the U.S....I heard Bone is pretty close to diamond also with E.1999 Eternal...

E.1999 Eternal has definatly sold more than 6.5 million. It was NEAR 8 million 3 years ago. But, for arguements sake, this is the top 5 [MC Hammer, Vanilla Ice, Puffy, and Nelly do NOT count, only LEGIT hip hop albums]:
1. Life After Death--10 million
2. All Eyez On Me--9 million, Greatest Hits--9 million
3. MMLP--8 million, License To Ill--8 million
4. E.1999 Eternal--7 million
5. The Score--6 million
I suspect that All Eyez On Me is passed Life After Death however.......

This question is asked every week an every1 has different numbers for each CD, I dont think any1 knows the right numbers
-
^^^^^^^LOL, true that. However, I get my numbers from by dawg, who works for Soundscan. He knows pretty how much almost any album has sold. However, I aint talked to him in a hot minute now, so the numbers have definatly changed a bit, but the last list he gave me, Life After Death, All Eyez On Me, the MMLP, License To Ill, E.1999 Eternal, and the Score were the top selling LEGIT rap albums of all time.
