Damn I put that album back in my car and listened to it after a cooool minute...shit is bumping. a good 3/4 of tha album is straight fire. I totally forgot how good bad azz was on doggystyle..unfortunately this is his only album i own/heard, any other good ones he has?
-
Word On Tha Streetz is dope also. But yeah Personal Business is a dope album.
-
Pretty damn good album, one of my fav. West Coast joints. Production was kinda weak but that goes for any DPG release since 98. I thought he had good guests, and Bad has got a sick, topical lyrical game, which I really respect.
Wat happened to "West Coast Plantation" with Xzibit? Album could have been better with this song, even though I never heard it in CDQ.

Just this moment bought it for 3 quid. Bargain.
-
ain't heard any bad azz album besides word on tha streetz, and that 1 is pretty dope. Got a few fillers, can't wait to listen to his other 3 albums 8)
-
LMAO @ the production bein weak...it was easy 8 or 8.5.
This was my album for summer of 2001. I was playin this more than anything else, right ahead of DPG, Kurupt, a lil DPG 2002, a lil Doggy's Angels, a lil Soopafly, a liil Last Meal here n there, then everything old.

That statement was a little off, I should have just said Bad Azz. I have stated that D & YG was one of the best produced albums ever so that was a mistake u right.
As for the Bad Azz CD, it was his best, I'd say I really only liked half of the beats. For the big name producers, I just the thought the musical aspect would be better.

lol, thats better
bad azz albums sound rushed a bit, i still enjoy them, personal business could hav been his masterpiece but imo, a little too long with a few too many filler tracks, still a solid 7/10 imo

very solid dogghouse release aand his best album......even though WOTS had some classics joints on it

Thought the production was the best thing about the album, even though Bad Azz is tight and all, the production fucking kicks ass on this, like "How We Get Down" and "2001 4 Door Cadillac." That shit is crazy!

i might need to get this
is this his first album when he's sittin on that chair or is it when he's on that escalator(WHAT KIND OF COVER IS THAT)

when he's on the escalator

The only Bad Azz album i have is WOTS and it's pretty solid. The production is pretty inconsistent though, and is lacking in a lot of the songs, but I liked DJ Pooh and Ant Bank's beats the best. Also, good guest spots too.

Personal Business and Word on the streetz are his best two albums...
Others aren't that great....
Executive decision is more of an EastCoast sound....I didn't mind a few tracks, but It's a different vibe which most (at the time anyway) didn't feel.
Money Run has was ok, again I didn't mind, but I think these two (MR & ED) were both released without bads support......I know one was suppose to be for a Low Life album, and the company just took Bad Azz tracks and released it as a solo without his blessing.....
But yeah worth checking out for a couple tracks here and there, but all in all Persoanl business and word on the streetz are his proper solos.

Favorite cuts, "U Don't Wanna Be Broke", and "Wrong Idea", far as production.

never understood why "Wrong Idea", was on both Last Meal and Personal Business and then released as the lead single, I think it took away from Bad Azz sales since it was already on Snoop's album released months before and alot of people already had the track

badd azz on doggystyle?what you mean the lable?or the album?

that track was nuts though! i remember it got a lot of play probably due to the snoops part.

Yeah I felt that was a terrible decision. When I first started seeing websites and all list that song as Bad Azz song, I'd be like nah, that's a mistake...he's just on Snoop's song. I was mad as hell that they did this...because it made it appear as if "Bad Azz best song on the CD must be Wrong Idea since it's a single, and I already have Snoop's CD, so why would I buy this CD??"
-
Fuck that, outside of Cali,"Wrong Idea" was the 1st time we really heard of this Bad Azz. The album didn't sell good, and trust me it wouldn't have done half the numbers it did without having "Wrong Idea" on it.

^ Who cares? The album was bangin.
